Treated myself to a wee Portable Vinyl turntable for Christmas.
Can't wait to go back home to France to put my hands on my little treasure box of records
What is your favourite Vinyl?
Do you still have the first one you bought?
Which Vinyl do you think I defo need in my collection? |

I've got to live with Bs vinyl collection.
He must have thousands. Mostly dance music from the 80s onwards.
He won't part with any. Says they all have a moment in time for him.
To me they are heavy as hell to shift around to clean.

Still have the first album I bought in the 60's and still have my entire collection intact - around 400 album's
Can't suggest what you need but my most played is Dark Side of the Moon by pink Floyd. it's 43 yrs old but in perfect condition for its age ( a bit like its owner ) |

I'm addicted to vinyl records, can't have enough of them, and I listen to them regularly, there's a ritual to playing a record, taking it out of the sleeve and gently placing the needle onto the record, and hearing that light crackle, then flipping it over to the other side, and having the cover in your hand to read and admire. Heaven.
Suggestion for a record to play on yours, so many to choose from, but I suggest anything by led zeppelin. |

I still have all my old vinyl, and occasionally add to it. I tend to buy stuff that was originally on CD, or replace the worn out stuff. My last vinyl was a remastered Vangelis album, "L'Apocalypse des Animaux". It sounds incredible after all these years! |

I got rid of an extensive vinyl record collection and an expensive turntable in the early 80s because we were told vinyl is old hat and CDs are the future. I knew I shouldn't have listened to them. D'oh! |

Without trying to sound like a party pooper, if the record player you bought is a Crowley, they are known to track quite heavily on vinyl and cause excessive/premature wear. |

"Without trying to sound like a party pooper, if the record player you bought is a Crowley, they are known to track quite heavily on vinyl and cause excessive/premature wear. "
Sorry, that should have read Crosley not Crowley!! |

Ooh noo... Gal, got in there first lol there's the skip lol.
Yeah people do buy them if they are still in good conditions.
I have even seen people selling some without the cover sleeve, just the inside protection sleeve!

Wow! Don't have any of my badges left "
I gave them all to my son so I'm not sure exactly what badges I have left. Got a good few that must be collector items.
My fav was a cnd one with a teddy bear that said "I want to grow up not blow up" lol |

Lol looks like unfortunately you can pass it down to the next generation
My fave badges were the shape of a hand (various colours to collect) that said in French 'don't harass my mate', was a big 80s movement against racism in France.
Not thought about that in years!! |

My parents still have boxes of 78's in their attic.
I remember playing them as a kid... my favourite was run rabit run (not sure if that was the real title) but I do remember the label on most of them being his masters voice (the gramaphone with the dog). |

First record I bought was Jeepster by T Rex on the Fly label in 1971,along with Poppa Joe by Sweet.
Had a house filled with vinyl until I sold almost everything in 2000.
I now have a bigger collection than I will ever be able to listen to and growing on my phone, in my car hard drive, throughout my house and online wherever I go.
I know that there is a real vinyl boom and I'll come across as some kind of hereti. However, try waking up from your own party for the umpteenth time to find your joy division collection missing, your precious white label bootlegs Scratched and beer glass rings stained into your holographic Their satanic majesties Request sleeve.
You'll find that solid state music is a miracle.
I do miss reading the small print on the sleeves though. |

This new Vinyl craze has been carefully orchestrated by the Artists and their management in order for them to make more money, as the majority of people download music for free. |

I still have my vinyl collection. Everything from the first records I bought as a kid, my first 12” singles, & my DJ Collection. I couldn’t part with them even though many of them are available to download, stream, or on digital formats. A great many more are rare tracks that were only played at Clubs, DJ promo copies, or not mainstream enough to be on a digital format. I can’t see me parting with my collection unless they’re prized out of my cold, dead hands. |

Absolutely Max. Some tunes can instantly transport me to a particular time or era better than any Tardis. Sometimes I can even recall & imagine certain scents/colognes from around the time they were first playing. I’d even go so far as to say I remember certain records which would mix/ beatmatch (in digital parlance) & start cueing the next track up mentally in my head. |
