"Green day will be good, saw them before,Rancid are brilliant"
Rancid are the better band. Or at least they used to be, haven't heard any of their stuff for ages. Used to love Dookie by Green Day as well though |

When I was a mere slip of a lass I remember seeing Green Day at rock city in 1998, didn't even sell out the venue but fantastic anyway. Believe it was the nimrod tour. |

Dookie what an awesome album. Always wanted to see them but the hassle & expense puts us off. Have seen Green Bay & Green Haze at our local music pub. Both excellent cover bands in an intimate setting.
Good luck in getting in. |

We just got Guns n Roses tickets
Green Day used to be my favourite band ever since I saw them on TOTP 1994 doing Welcome to Paradise.
Been to see them three times and they always put on a good show but I can't stand their new stuff they have brought out since American Idiot. I don't even like them doing the old stuff live. I blame them stopping taking speed.

"We are going, years since we last saw them, good live band "
There not as good as they were years ago, getting older and sobering up has changed them a fair bit.
Still better than half the acts out there just now if that's your thing but don't expect it to be the same.
I've got to admit I've been listening to dookie a lot recently , I feel a bit if a hypocrite after my last post about them. |

Cancelled due to botched job by contractors apparently. Staging and equipment not ready for gig.
See other thread for more details. Seems ridiculous with the number of gigs Glasgow holds each year. |

Guys
I worked yesterday in bellahouston from 4am to build the stage for the greenday concert. I'm seeing MANY posts stating that it was the crews or something to do with us running behind.
Can I clarify that it was cancelled due to sparks flying from the light's well AFTER the stage had been built.
The stage was complete at 1055 am we worked our asses off. It was built at the bottom of a slope and the masses of water slowly turned the area into a massive mud bath which got ino the electrics and started causing massive sparks I the lights. Therefore health n safety announced it to be dismantled immediately. Trust me we were not happy either , so some of us pulled 20 hours in the pouring rain all for some pPl to blame us . As far as I'm aware "Scotiabank events' is re embursing everyone . It is worth noting , greenday were asked to play today instead as they actually staying in Glasgow for 3 days ,,,b4 heading to Spain
They said no , sorry weren't interested
Hope that clears things up |

Maybe concert promoters should offer a insurance type policy to cover events like this. You pay £1 on top of your ticket price and for this they give you couple hundred quid to cover travel and hotel costs, you would need to provide receipts as proof,

"Still doesn't reimburse travel and hotel costs for people. As well as disappointed kids. "
I know what you mean, I can only imagine how many ppl it upset.
All I can say I was just one of the local guys who was hired to help build it. It just annoys me when iv seen posts all over the place saying " it was the local crews faults" or " the crews were running behind". It was silly in the first place to put stage down hill, though I guess they wanted ppl at the back to have better chance of view.
The other thing , please remember "greenday" themselves never wanted to sing the next day , they just were not interested so take from that what you will

Next show is Madrid(7th), they'd need the travel time to get the buses and trucks there (buses go ahead and band fly). Logistically wouldn't be possible.
