Today I'm running a course on confidence building and while on this boring bus journey it's had me wondering...how confident are you? What kind of things do you find boosts your confidence? |

"I have very little confidence so I've learnt to fake it. However sometimes I struggle even with that. My insecurities surface and that voice in my head fills me with doubts. "
This makes me feel quite sad... You're a lovely woman inside and out. Tell that voice to go bother someone else

I've always been quite confident, had to be running bars/restaurants. I do sometimes get a wee niggle of self doubt, I tend to just give myself a shake or as my mum used to say put on some lipstick

I'm always pretty confident its the only way to be people spend too much time wondering or assuming what others think of them and that drops your confidece big time, just be yourself and except you and the confidence will flow |

Repetition breeds confidence. The more you do something, the better you become and so on.
However folk want to turn it into something that can be sold or 'faked'
Keep chipping away at whatever you want to be 'confident' for. You'll get there if you put the work in. |

I'm a pretty confident person in general, though I have my moments of self doubt. I guess we all do.
I'm interested: is your course aimed at giving people the tools to boost their own confidence, or at ways to help boost the confidence of others? Most of us could do with a wee boost now and then and it would be nice to think there are a few more people in the world thinking about how to make that happen. |

Hi, in work I'm very confident but once I'm out my comfort zone I lack it, I've had one social meet and was a bit nervous God knows how I'd have been if I ever got to meet someone for fun. Jim |

I like to think I'm quite a confident person. Like Bunkie said it depends who I'm with or what I'm doing tho.
I'm good at looking confident sometimes while secretly I'm a quivering wreck inside |

I'm fairly confident. But, I still have the odd time when I'm not.
However, to all of those who lack confidence in themselves, don't let it hold you back. One day you'll find your inner self. Then there will be no holding you back.
If in doubt, come say hi. I'll lend you some |

When it comes to work I am confident, always has been the case.
Socially and secually I am getting more confident as I am getting older.
I guess as I am getting older, I am better at taking myself by the hand and say to myself 'get a grip woman' |

I can appear more confident than I am at times. I'm good at encouraging others to do things e.g. For job interviews, etc.
I have gone to a burlesque workshop which was aimed at giving confidence too. I was recently at a burlex fitness dance display and the women had all gained confidence from doing the classes and the show. |

I work in vocational rehabilitation for clients with current or previous mental illness and/or acquired brain injuries. The day course is designed to look at what is confidence, what adversely affects it and what steps can we put in place to work on improving it. Some of the topics we cover include positive thinking, communication and skills identification. I love delivering the course but I don't often follow my own advice.
Weight gain and an emotionally neglectful marriage has left my confidence at an all time low. I'm outgoing and talkative which people often mistake as confidence but underneath the gobby scouse exterior I'm full of self doubt and criticism. |

"I am very confident
Don't get intimated easily"
I had to check the proper meaning of 'intimidate' in English before posting my comment. And it is what I thought.
I don't feel being not confident is related to being intimidated by people or situations. At least not for me.
Finding it hard to explain so hopefully someone will get what am trying to say and say it eloquently |

The two go hand in hand for me. Most confident folk tend not to let people intimidate them |

We will agree to disagree
But from your definition, I am confident |

Many will say that I "Mr" can appear to be a very confident person at times, being the joker or the one that starts a carry on and is largely inappropriate in nature, but put me in a room with strangers and I go all shy not wanting to speak to others so readily.
I wouldn't say I was intimidated more just unsure of myself at times.
Confidence and la know confidence can go hand in hand at times depending on the situation you are in .

Day to day and work I'm fine, I can present to any sized audience.
Stick me on my own at the social as I did on Saturday and nope, no way, go strangely shy |

I think... like the vast majority of people I have many issues over how confident I am... it has held me back hugely in life... I am without doubt my own hardest critic..however... there is a spark within that drives me to try... to have faith... without that, well you really don't have anything... in doing that I've managed to achieve, in my own small way, things I once could only have dreamed of. My thought is... Feel the fear and do it anyway, people are often far nicer than you think |

I think it's difficult at times for us to be happy with our own bodies. There's always something we don't like but equally there's usually someone who will find it attractive. I don't like my butt as it's too big but guys love the curves.
We have to learn to love what we have and to stop putting ourselves down. I think you are doing a great thing helping people with confidence and it is difficult to do as you preach. Low self esteem needs to be rebuilt slowly and gradually and being with people who are supportive helps. Sometimes we have friends who drain us of our confidence and self esteem.
With the start of a New Year maybe it's time to sort out who is good for you and who isn't. Love your body and yourself x |

My confidence/self-esteem is on a perpetual rollercoaster ride.
I find that the biggest influence is the peeople who are around me and how they make me feel about both myself and the situation I am in. |

Very true... I'd say minimise the negatives...not always easy or possible but do so as much as possible |

I've heard of that word, 'confidence', have no idea what it is, or what it actually means, when I think I'm confident, which is rarely, I get told I'm on an ego trip, that just kills any confidence I thought I had, think I may take up one of those confidence courses |
