Is there ever anything new written on here and how often is there new posters

It's the same dung every week, face pic Friday, kiss fuck avoid, cjs this week, what's the shoebox like, shaven or unshaven. It's strange that the same people always comment on it as well, it's like Groundhog Day.

The forum clique really need to give new posters a break and stop being nasty to people not in the crowd or they will drive themselves crazy with the repetitive nature of the forum

Thanks

There are other forums that some of us post in too. As this is for Scotland it already has a limited number of people who are interested in the topics. Sometimes there are great posts which raise interesting issues.

Exactly most end up doing posts just like this yet contribute nothing to change the forums and make them more to their liking.

" I've noticed on one particular thread today that newbies to forum got completely blanked while the wee gang of forum bullies stick together...I actually feel sorry for the new people to the forum, but they also shouldn't feel intimidated by them..it's your forum too... "

Perhaps I am guilty of that, I don't know!

And it all depends how you use the forum I guess.

I only comment on threads/posts I am interested in, then yeah... I 'blank' the rest to be perfectly honest.

I also comment because I have something to say on the subject and don't particularly care if it gets blanked or not. I am happy to put my bit in

And, I prefer to see a comment blanked rather than seeing it getting a nasty reply.

That's my opinion anyway

Don't know why people even care what or when something is being posted. It's a forum it's a laugh. Maybe they just need to reflect and evaluate their own emotional intelligence if so serious about forum posts. I've only recently started chatting in forum and can't say I felt intimidated one bit. If was at a social then that would be a different story If no one spoke or were selective on who they chatted to

There is a divide that is clear for everyone to see but there has always been a divide and always will be. What isn't necessary is the nasty way in which some people treat people out with their social/forum circle it's not big or clever but once one person speaks out others follow and it gets classed as "banter".

Some people (not aimed at anyone posting on this thread) will claim I don't post if it doesn't interest me, not entirely true I've seen them post to put others down) others only post if a fellow forum friend posts and do ignore newbies.

For some people this is a huge part of their lives (although they may claim it's not) and are never off the forums constantly posting and giving their opinion, this is not necessarily a bad thing just different to how others use it.

Don't get pulled into a heated debate, now this site has moved on from being a swingers site and people use it for many different reasons enjoy being here for whatever that reason may be and have fun x

As a relative newby to posting on the forums I have to agree with lil tease in most of what she has said.

Ive been made most welcome by many of the regulars but also ignored and even felt slightly intimidated by others.

But like all relationships on any level people have to get to know you in some sense or other to gauge your sense of humour and to reciprocate with banter that wont be misconstrued.

The forum can be a daunting place especially if you've made the effort to try and join in and you feel your comments have been totally ignored as there is what appears to be a "private joke" going on between a few regulars who know each other..... but in saying that these regulars are entitled to do what they are doing and have their fun too... after all thats why we are all here - to enjoy ourselves.

So keep posting everyone... have fun

"There is a divide that is clear for everyone to see but there has always been a divide and always will be.

"

Agree with a lot of this. To be fair we don't see a lot of nastiness on the forum but that may just because we don't use it much or avoid many of the repetetive threads when we do.

One thing that's a little ironic though is that one of the things that was complained about in an earlier post has actually happened on this thread as well.

So keep posting everyone... have fun

"

I see what you are saying but... Sometimes I think the forum should be considered like having a big family Christmas dinner! Lot of different personalities around the same table. lots of conversations going on. sometimes you make a comment that gets ignored, so what take a sprout lol sometimes uncle billy makes the weird comment. grandad robert talk about the old days, cousin Julie is the smarty pants etc... the whole family makes still makes it to pudding with no one being sent home

Hope this makes sense, sounds better in head lol

Not sure the original point/complaint about 'forum regulars' was that newbies comments occasionally get ignored during already ongoing discussions but rather the newbies are the ones who start said discussion themselves, the first 3 or 4 posts are on occasion from passive aggressive regulars who usually put them down for not using the search feature to find the answer. The thread then quickly descends into 5-15 folks having a conversation with each other that has hee haw to do with the threads original topic.

A question then.

I expect I'm regarded as a forum regular so probably an "offender", however, I've only been back about 9 months, how come I'm not moaning and bitching about being ignored, how did I get to be regular?

How did any of the regulars get to be regular, we were all newbies once

Not sure I accept this analogy as in real life I think we'd make more of an effort to be inclusive of all.

The reality is there is a well-established group within the Scotland forum. We're human beings and can be tribal, so naturally that group does use the forum threads to re-establish and maintain the group identity through positive strokes etc. It's human nature. I wouldn't say it's a 'clique' or a deliberate attempt to exclude. Me...I'm happy to lurk!

this part I agree with unfortunatly imo if you dont bend to the forum mentality. You are the most negative vilified human being to be placed on the earth. I would also say the tribal element has some "royalty" that guides the group consensus

Too many people take the site far too seriously. Its meant to be a place where you can escape to from reality and enjoy the benefits what the site projects.A place where like-minded people can interact with other consenting Adults.

People should be aware that not everyone is going to get along therefore that should be respected.

It would be in the best interest of the site that everyone who locates the Scots Forum to post&comment and be a "regular".

There does seem to be a lot of negativity in which some people refrain to post or comment.

Lifes too short folks..if someone or somethings anooying ya..just block and move on..its really that simple.

Btw im looking for some festive sexy fun ..just sayin

The moment you start to allow others to negatively influence your enjoyment, step away.

It's words on a screen and they are so easily ignored.

Yes lots are boring threads to me, but others find them fun. So be it.

Choose your fun and enjoy it and leave others to theirs.

It is that easy.

Well yes Mr Costa. The way things are sounding I almost feel guilty for taking a regular interest and having a bit of a giggle. What interests me is the complaint that posts are "ignored"? Every post doesn't need a response...my ramblings rarely do. I always try to welcome newbies also, but if someone comes on and posts something I disagree with or find rude am I not entitled to say anything...just in case a new poster runs away in the huff? Also, we are all aware of those who come onto the forum to cause a stramash and then scraper much as the OP has done.

Anyway, I have fun to myself and I try to abide by the rules. But, I won't be made to feel guilty for having friends and posting often.

There...I wasn't going to say all that, but I love you all! Yes, even you at the back who is thinking about posting but hasn't yet...go on. You might like it.

Its no different to chat except whats been said stays there for all to see where as whats said in chat is gone in a few lines therefore whats being said isnt always cast up like it is on the forums.

If people consentrated on their own fun instead of downing others for the fun they like to have on the forums would be a much nicer place.

Most of the forum uses are lovely people

Not sure I accept this analogy as in real life I think we'd make more of an effort to be inclusive of all.

"

I don't _iew it as we'd make more of an effort to be inclusive of all - either on here or in real life. In both scenarios the conversation can move fast and your comment or attempt to join in can be missed - unintentionally often especially IRL as the people in the conversation might be intense, caught up.

I am actually quite a shy person IRL and more so in a group social setting and I once saw on a profile a guy describe himself as not so much shy but that he found it difficult to 'insert' himself/join in a conversation and I thought that was a good descriptor too.

It happens here but I hang around and take what I from the site

The forum use to be good .now it's small groups who like to stick to there own cliques who don't like different opinions from there's. This results In bad feelings others being excluded . Also results the people not with the in crowd being reported. So it continues a them and us. Some have no life off fab and think they own it. Like to be the centre of attention so how dare a newbie take that way from them.

In all fairness to the OP, he (or she) is pretty much spot on.

The Scottish forum often appears stale, unwelcoming, repetitive, and disinteresting.

Maybe if the usual patrol didn't jump down the throats of the new, infrequent or the uninitiated, then the threads would be more enjoyable and expansive.

Sadly, I doubt that will happen.

I think there is an additional element that can be equally off putting whereby the individual warring factions use it as a vehicle to have a dig and it becomes an argument between the various individuals.

So as well as the 'inside' jokes and friendships/familiarity that can appear unfriendly or take a thread off subject there are arguments and petty digs that do the same at times.

I think I live in a parallel universe or perhaps my middle name should be oblivious because I am often oblivious to it

Trick is to remember this is a virtual site

Don't take things to seriously

99% of the folk on the forums will never meet each other

So why waste your time getting upset?

"The moment you start to allow others to negatively influence your enjoyment, step away.

It's words on a screen and they are so easily ignored.

Yes lots are boring threads to me, but others find them fun. So be it.

Choose your fun and enjoy it and leave others to theirs.

It is that easy.

"

What happens here happens in all forums/threads on any social media.

I'm a regular user of a newspaper app touting 'Comment is Free' OMG those below the line comments are brutal...makes fab forums look like well-policed classrooms!

We're all here to have fun one way or the other...if it's not that, then maybe time for a pause.

"My name is Jinty. I'm a regular poster.

It is, and you are, is this a confession?

That was quite deep and sensible for you! Oh gosh.......you won't be offended by that? Will you?

And not every poster on the forums behaves this way so why is everyone being tarred with the same brush?

As you see it...an individual _iew

However because we are individuals the next person might not think like that.

My perception will be different and the perception of the person after me will likely be different again

But I take it as....words on a screen by people who I am unlikely to ever meet and I don't give it a second thought when I step away and go back to reality life

Perhaps I am picking things wrong here but by the way this thread is going. In my opinion.

All that's being achieved is intimidating further newbies from posting, intimidating someone who may have had an idea for putting a thread up to do so, and some people who may have had a carry on on the forum to do so in case they are classed as bullies or else.

Everyone is being bullied now!

Shame!

Personally, I will keep doing what I am doing as I will be judged whatever I do and/or say.

Fab is a great place to be judged that you want it or not

People can use the forum as they wish! And say what they wish. For me, at the end of the day Fab is for fun.

And it's not always easy to translate, convey an idea. Some people forget that it is easy for everyone.

Who gives a damn????

Everyone can post whatever they want.

Whenever they want.

Couldn't care less.

If I don't want to read it - I don't. Simple as that.

So, newbies, welcome and post as much as you like.

Oldies, same applies to you too.

Everybody - if you don't like a thread.....stop bitching or whining about it and ignore it like a sensible adult.
