It's not so funny now, is it? |

Nope, it is not funny. And sorry you went through that.
We all go through stuff, we all went through stuff, and we will all go through more stuff during our lives.
Does that mean we have the right to be heavy on someone's comment on a subject because of what we have went through, or are going through, I personally don't think so.
We just have to agree to disagree.

I too have lost loved ones......it doesnt mean I look myself in and refuse to live you embrace life and it pleasures which includes things that aint necessarily good for you |

Sadly I lost my dad to alcoholic liver disease a few years ago. He was only 52.
My mother now a very sick lady because of her drinking too. Despite a spell in rehab 9 years ago.
Therefore I know the horrible reality all too well. However I'm just as able as the next person to see both the humour and the seriousness in this post.
I don't drink often. However when I do I avoid texting and social media! |

Reality ? My reality is probably equivalent to 1 drink a month and haven't been d*unk in many, many years and due to my personality trait of being in control was never unaware of what I was doing.
My choice for no reason other than it simply doesn't interest me

Read the first two lines of the original quote. Whether it is a "joke" or not, drinking to EXCESS is dangerous. I never said anything about those who drink sensibly, i.e. in moderation.
As for the "lock yourself away" comment, I don't, I don't deny myself a life, and I am perfectly capable of having a good time without alcohol. (Or drugs).
I have no time for those who see it as a badge of honour to be able to say "I was so wasted at last nights' social".
That's MY opinion. If you don't like it, or disagree with it, fine. You won't change it anymore than I am likely to change yours. |
