What's your thoughts, if you have any lol on Christmas cards?
It is not a big ritual where I come. You just pick up the phone or say face to face to people to have a great festive season.
I have been here for a while and still don't get used to writing them and receiving them.
Of course, this is as always a discussion thread and not meant to offend anyone.
I don't see the need for them. Perhaps someone will make me think differently. Who knows?
I am going to receive about 150 of them and it kinda breaks my heart to throw them away even if it's to the recycling bin!
Are you attached to this ritual?
Do you think it has gone out of proportion in recent years?
How many will you write/receive?
Answer on a postcard

Max, should't it be answers on a Christmas card? lol. I used to buy them and give them to neighbours, friends but I have fallen away from it now. Though for close friends and family there is always a card and if I don't get one it is nearly almost the end of the world. |

I don't really feel the need for Christmas cards any more. I'm with you Max, I'd rather say happy Christmas in person or over the phone.
This year I even sent my nephew an animated E-card for his 2nd birthday. He loved it and still demands my sister play it over and over - his birthday was August lol. |

Not a fab at all.
Totally agree with face to face or using social media for those who can't see face to face!
Hate the feeling of obligation to send one because received one from a family friend that I've not seen for more than 20 years!!! |

I know what you mean!
I am still getting a Christmas card from an ex work colleague! Not seen or spoken to him in 17 years but I get a card without fail lol
He or his wife have obviously not updated their Christmas Card List since haha |

stopped writing xmas cards since i left school. It's pure commercialisation.

We all agree at work not to waste money on cards, donation instead, spot on!
Then someone does the inevitable, they send a card, and what's next we all send one back, oh the joy of ever recurring Xmas traditions lol |
