is it the sign of the times that the majority of single guys that we ask to meet cant accomm because they have flatmates.gone are the times when you would tell your flatmate to make themselves scarce for a couple of hours.

No idea, I'm lost. Damn Sat nav!

could be the fact that if they are meeting people on a regular basis then the flat mate might sus that they are swingers and perhaps they want to remain discreet ?

That maybe is the case on a few occasions, I am not disputing that. Maybe out of 10 single guys, you would expect a few to have a flat mate. But what I am finding on Fab just now is that 9 out of every 10 so called single guys, who state that they can accommodate on their profile, seem to have a flat mate and use this as the excuse not to accommodate. If they are meeting people on a regular basis as you have suggested, then they must be amoungst the few lucky ones because these forums and chat is full of single guys complaining that they can't get meets! This is not a dig at single guys. I am simply stating what I am finding on Fab at the moment.

Folk who can't accomodate (for whatever reason) shouldn't say on their profiles that they can. That'd solve it.

Perhaps 'flatmate' is a code word for girlfriend or wife??

"Perhaps 'flatmate' is a code word for girlfriend or wife??"

I was wondering that, too.

Maybe you and I are too cynical lol

Seems to be quite a trend in single guys who have a wife tucked away.

or maybe they stay at home still and dont want to say that - buying a house or renting is expensive for some

The only reason i put on my profile that i can not accommodate is my neighbor is like version of Isa from Still Game i can accommodate but would like to be discreet about it.

I do accomodate but i also have a flatmate who i rent my spare room out to.I tend not to have meets here when he is not at work as i think it would be a lil disrespectful to him hearing all the goings on in my bedroom next door to his, especially as he pays me money to stay here. Some might say he should pay extra for that :P

Prefer to keep him out of it tho he is fully aware of my lifestyle.

Just my 2 cents as always

Bloo

Would never question why some can't accommodate as we can't either so would be somewhat hypocritical.

With today's cost of living and house prices can understand why a lot of singles flat share .... And not everyone likes to accomodate....

Not everyone is comfy with others knowing their business perhaps they like a bit of discretion.... Maybe they just ain't comfy with itbeing close to home.... We don't like playing close to home.... Obv not the case for all cases but I am sure for males it's the same

If you can't accommodate then don't state you can. I for one can't through choice, simply because I don't want other people knowing my business. If people have an issue with that the it's their problem, not mine.
