Glasgow

The stretch between J4 Maryville and J5 Raith shuts at 8pm on Friday (November 18) and won’t reopen until 6am on Monday, November 21

Should be a fun weekend anyone else fed up of the roadworks yet?

John

At the moment ...coming back from edinburgh you dont go near shawhead now ..you come off m8 about a mile before it and filter on to bellshill bypass much further down

I got totally lost going through all that a couple of weeks ago.... Sat nav just wasnt compatible with the changes the roadworks caused.... then i got even more lost trying to find my way back. Couldnt see signs for where i wanted to go so followed sat nav instructions..... and thats a whole new story on its own

Falkirk

The M8 will be open as usual and if you are East Kilbride you can still come across the M74 at J5.

Once it's all done it should make things a lot easier. Especially at Shawhead and the Raith

Go Via M80 M876 M9 to Edinburgh. Always a better route.

It will be a major improvement once it's completed.

Though not so sure, according to some of the stories told me by a friend working on the job!

There is land movement on the new m8 as it starts at Newhouse east bound and it's not even open yet it's next to a friends land he was out inspecting the movement as it's causing problems with his land and drainage

It was shut before but poorly signposted. Following the diversions one dark Sunday night,I ended up in Queenslie after an hour and a half, which is a backward loop.Made up my own detour and was over the border in less time than my sightseeing trip in Glasgow.Hope it's better signed this weekend.
