I think as single ladies that's common, for blokes I think they see a wink as a way to get off first base, test the water before they message (I'm not a bloke so can't speak for them ) but that's our experience of receiving them. X |

Notice most winks are Male! A wink to us shows Lack of effort it shows they never read our profile and they get ignored or blocked saves wasting time in the future. you dont walk up to a female or a couple in a bar and expect a fuck because you winked at them do you? you need some chat up line.. Effort!!  |

but try being a guy sending out loads of messages and getting no reply...?must admit if I were a single guy on here I'd wink who I liked...as I said...if they like the look of you...they will wink back...then take it from there

We agree. Obvs single fems are going to see it as laziness when someone sends a wink but for us, we see it as a quick polite way of showing an interest. Plus there's no awkwardness for the recipient feeling like they have to reply to a message if they arn't feeling it. Works for us anyway. |

We tried a few winks... no interest back. Maybe we're not to every ones taste or maybe people think it's a lazy way to make aquaintence. Who know.
Surely a wink is good manners... knocking on the door before saying hello. .. |

I dont mind a wink, the way i look at it is i get a wink and like the look of the winker i'll wink back, winking back to me is a way of saying " yeah, maybe and theres the door open to message me".....
Its when you get a wink from a blank profile, what the fucks that about? Its an icebreaker/attention grabber, hows that gonna work when you can only see a sillhouette and if your lucky some words.....  |

I've seen many profiles stating they regard a wink as a lazy effort . . there are quite a few hat frown on a wink . . .I personally see them as a nice wee icebreaker. . shows someone has caught your eye. |

Most women don't get it, but then they don't need to as they seldom have to write loads of messages to elicit some sort of response from a potential tryst. |

The thing is: as a single on here you could spend hours , writing witty and interesting prose to the several profiles that you might want to "get to know ".
Lets face it the batting average is pretty low for replies.
It's not being lazy it's just making life easier on yourself and what's wrong with that?
If someone sends a wink back to me they are guaranteed plenty chat in return.
Just my tuppence worth. |
