In regard to replacing David Attenborough... not sure there's anyone of that standard though there are lots of good ones.

Attenborough himself has intimated that if the choice was his he would appoint Brian Cox.... but like everyone else I dont think there is anyone who has anywhere near the knowledge of the great man himself.

May I suggest Simon King, years of experience behind the camera and a fair bit presenting.

Though I do hope its a while before he'd need to take over

There was a programme in recently called Animal Kingdom very similar format

Narrator was Stephen Fry and he did not bad a job too
