In the run up to Halloween and in general I'm a fan of a good horror movie, Poltergeist scared the daylight out of me as a kid . What's everyone's go to horror for a good fright ?? Any recommendations are welcome too |

The Hills have eyes, I reckon was based on an actual place, I swear I was working in America one summer and we delivered to a place just like it , made sure to leave before dark |

There are plenty of good modern ones, you just need to look outside major studios mostly. Even then The Conjuring was an excellent haunted house movie. V/H/S, Love Nina, It Follows, The Witch, Starry Eyes, Contracted and Green Room are a few. |

I'm a horror fan, so probably too many to list in here, but one of my all-time faves is John Carpenter's version of The Thing.
I like the old black.and white cucumber man version, and the modern prequel does a good job of integrating with the other, but it holds a spot in my heart as a classic.
Now let's hope that the supposedly green-lit remake actually adds to it and is a story taking place at the same time, not a true remake.
