"Milk in coffee furst, makes it less bitter
Milk in tea last so you can get the correct shade "
The reason it tastes bitter when you put boiling water into instant coffee first is because the boiling water scolds the coffee granules bringing the bitter taste out |

Some people would probably quite like the flogging |

I need to drink a pint of milk each morning, so usually have none left for a cuppa... but:
Milk in last for "normal" tea..
Have a coffee machine so just put it in any order.. makes no difference |

"I don't like milk so tea bag and water only for me, although my hubby freeks when I make him tea and put the milk in first!"
And rightly so ..disgraceful thing to do you should be spanked for such atrocities |

In days of old, whether you put milk in your tea first or not was a reflection of your class. The upper classes always put the milk in first because they drank out of china cups. The milk helped ensure that the hot water didn't crack the cup. The rest of us great unwashed didn't have such "worries", so the milk went in second, if indeed there was any milk to be had at all... |
