I'm often listening to music on my headphones & when I find a track I enjoy I'm known to put it on repeatedly (sometimes until I can't stand the track anymore).
Last night it was "California Dreamin" by Sia as featured in the movie San Antonio. It has such an atmospheric start, then bursts into a full blown orchestral & dramatic repeat of the first verse, & a modern day loop/sample of one line as a bridge, with a climatic finish. It seemed to suit the day.
So what songs do you like to play on "repeat"? |

Badge - Cream repeat this a lot, especially in the car.
At the PC still on You Tube still obsessed with Future Islands "Seasons" clip from the Letterman show.... Amazing performance of a great song ! .... This clip is now a couple of years old, but if you have the time, please watch. |

Ok I watched the Letterman clip, & just as I started to like the song the lead singer broke into what I can only describe as the worst case of Dad Dancing I've ever witnessed. He followed it up by growling certain lyrics by which point my eyes rolled in my head & I got a fit of the giggles.
I've attached the link folks. See what you think:

"Anything by pink floyd ..just get lost in their music
Shine on you crazy diamond
"
I actually got my late Mum onto this & she loved it. Always makes me think of her saying, "Play that Diamond song". |

"Norah Jones - Come away with me (album)
It's soothes me and I love her voice x
I have to admit that one was a repeat play holiday track as I lay enjoying the sunshine. "
It got me through a very hard part of my life and it's only recently I've been able to listen to it and smile. A sign it's a new beginning I think |

Well someone better get me off Sia soon cos I'm starting to hear lazy pronunciation, or I'm mishearing & swear she's singing:
instead of "I stopped into a church I passed along the way" I hear, "...I flashed him on the way".
And where she sings "You know the preacher likes the cold" I hear, "You know the preacher's hands are cold" or "you know the preacher likes this song".

Well, I'm finally OFF Sia's "California Dreamin" & now onto another Cover/Movie related song that also has a connection with a wonderful classical piece, Symphony No 3 by Camille Saint-Saëns.
I found this on Spotify & is a rousing version of the Glasgow born Scott Fitzgerald & Yvonne Keeley duet "If I Had Words", this time by Joanna Wong on her album Midnight Cinema.
Check it out if you like a fusion of Classcal & Pop. |

If I'm working on a routine I play the song to death. Sax - Fluer East, Cake by the Ocean - DNCE are 2 at the moment. I love rock n roll - Britney was another... I love black eyed boy, that old devil called love, back to black and shine. |
