For those of you who, like me, have no life AND two left feet, can I just remind you that Strictly starts on BBC1 at 9pm.
Mrs D will be pouring liberal measures of gin and Bothy will share his snacks.

I think the first lady and the guy with the bike showed improveable talent
Apologies if that's presumptuous |

The Judge was a total surprise. Can't stand his uber camp personality & his afternoon show is bubblegum for the brain, up there with Jeremy Kyle. That said, boy did he come outta the blocks all guns (& pecs) blazing, & can obviously shake a tail feather. I just hope he calms down the facial antics, the OTT campanomity, & dances his little arse off seriously. It would be good to see a big Jessie go far in the competition. |

"The Judge. The man can dance. I hope they give him a routine where he shows his obvious ability, less of the camp comic side & where he can just dance. "
Way too much gurning for me!! |

Exactly. Give him a routine where he doesn't gurn & grin but just show off his talent. I think he's capable but the shows producers are ramping up his campness. Maybe they're saving that for a week once it's given their favourites a chance to shine. |

There are certainly a few strong contenders this year. The public need to start voting for the best dance (in their opinion) each week and not their favourite celeb or the underdogs just to keep them in.

A Galaxy Far, Far Away & Spain |
I'm struggling to think who might/should go this week as the standard was so high for week 5.
Judge Rinder: Jive - Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.
The Judge did good & meant business this week.
Loved his solo right in front of the Judges. Brave.
Lesley Joseph: Tango - Whatever Lola Wants.
Not the best tango I've ever seen to Gotan Project's version of this (see Sara & Danny SYTYCD) but the 70yo has nothing to be ashamed of & gave it her all.
Greg R: Cha Cha Cha - We Found Love.
00He gave it his best shot but a possible bottom two this week.
Anastacia: Quick Step - My Kind Of Town (Chicago).
She has found the right song, right dance & the right partner in Gorka. I'd love to see her dance more with him rather than Brendan. A better partnership. Hope she stays.
Louise R: Rhumba - Always On My Mind.
Nice but like watching a brother & sister do a rhumba. Too polite. Forgettable compared to others apart from the final drop/catch at the end.
Ed Balls: American Smooth - Amarillo.
Despite the disaster of the last lift he has had the biggest journey of the folk with no dance experience & always surprisingly entertaining to watch.
Ore: Waltz - I Will Always Love You.
The one to beat. Can he keep it up till Christmas?
Daisy: Charleston - Happy Feet.
Great opening exposing the steps, & probably the best girl in the competition with great routines from Aljaz.
Danny: Rhumba - How Will I Know.
The other guy to beat. The first male celeb to tackle Rhumba this season to the Sam Smith version of the Whitney hit. Really good job.
Claudia: Samba - Young Hearts.
AJ put her through her paces & they are possibly the pairing to watch come up from the back of the pack. Masses of potential & deserve to stay in to get further in the competition.
So what did everyone else think of this weeks show?

Brilliant summation Random
This is where it starts to become a dance competition and sorry but to me Ed and Lesley are now the weakest but will be kept alive by the public making me concerned for Greg this week |

I agree. Its time the public put aside voting for their favourite celeb or the underdogs and start voting for who they thought was best dancer on the night. |

HALLOWEEN WEEK.
Louise Rednap: Charleston/Crazy Right Now.
What do I not get about her? It's just so safe & similar. Wouldn't miss her if she wasn't there.
Judge Rinder: Paso/Born This Way.
Packed in a dazzling, dramatic performance.
Claudia: American Smooth/Black Magic.
I love this pairing. Dynamic, breathtaking, for me - dance of the night.
Anastacia: Jive/Bat Out Of Hell.
Performance good, technique a bit lacking.
Danny Mac: Foxtrot/Take Me To Church.
Ambitious & would love to see it done perfectly someday.
Laura: Tango/Paint It Black.
Laura's best dance & proving she's still in the running.
Ore: Charleston/I Want Candy.
Has the front runner peaked too soon, or was this week his Achilles Heel moment?
Greg: Rumba/Bring Me To Life.
A great dance but was it a Rumba?
Daisy: Paso Doble/Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood.
I enjoyed this performance & the Bond/Spectre/Day Of The Dead theme.
Ed Balls: Cha Cha/Love Potion No 9.
My guilty pleasure. Didn't fail.

S14/W7
Danny: Jive/Long Tall Sally
Not quite as memorable as Jay/Aliona's Jive from S13/W3 & almost as good as this years Ore/Joanne Jive. A worthy finalist if he keeps this up.
Daisy: Viennese Waltz/Daisy Bell.
As pretty as it was I worry that the public might find it's simplicity a bit dull compared to the others this week. (Bottom 2 again?)
Ore: Salsa/Turn The Beat Around.
Accomplished performance but not as memorable as other Salsas. Still very much a contender for the Final.
Ed: Quickstep/Help.
I so hope he makes Blackpool.
He's entertained & keeps trying to get better in his dances.
Laura: Samba/Bamboleo.
Why did her partner steal the final glory step? Was Laura's foot injury still causing issues?
Still not as good as her friend Georgia May Foote's Samba to Volare which was also with Giovanni Pernice.
Judge R: Quickstep/It Don't Mean A Thing...
The Judge didn't let me down with a serious Quickstep, & it was interesting he & Ed both got a Quickstep.
Louise: Argentine Tango/Tanguera.
Pleasant enough but not a patch or as passionate as previous years AT's. Enough to wow the judges, not sure if it's enough for the public, but she should be safe for Blackpool.
Greg: Viennese Waltz/You Don't Own Me.
He keeps trying & for that I do like Greg, but he's possibly a contender for the bottom 2.
Claudia: Paso Doble/Shut Up & Dance With Me.
A traditional Paso to modern music possibly didn't help her scores but for me I still love this pairing & would love to see them make Blackpool as well as the Final.

The biggest pile of monkey poo ever ! Sad reflection on us and how we swallow anything that the tv companies throw in our direction. Devoid of talent, inspiration or ability and that's just Tess Daly. No wonder Brendan got the wee fella out to a total bint. Rant over lol enjoy |

"It's the final!!!!
COME ON ORE!!!
You'll be happy!! "
Yes thanks darling. Very happy. Dancing on the ceiling actually. Considering where Ore started from it was the absolute right decision.
And...it's goodbye to Len. I was more than a little moist at his farewell. |

I honestly think it was the best series ever. Loved it all. Even Ed...or in fact especially Ed. He tried really hard. If there was a glitterball for "Honest Endeavour" he would get it. |
