Time barring pics

Finding this very frustrating when it's done.

Obvs we respect peoples anonymity and privacy on here but this just makes us think the sender isn't genuine when they time bar sent pics

Makes us also more likely to forget what he/she/they look like and ultimately, less likely to want to actually chat/meet up!!

Is this normal practice with others and if so, why?

A world of my own

I actually think its a great feature for people to use. Especially if its a first contact. I don't think its anything to be suspicious of. Its just common sense

I like this feature as means they can't keep your pic. Unless they screenshot it. But give the sender that bit of control

I like it as not everyone who says they will send pictures does so it's good to be able to remove mine xx

We can save sent pics to our phones.

We're with you guys. As has been said, it only offers the illusion of control and heightened privacy so there's no benefit to it, and the likelihood of us opening a message together is next to none so one of us ends up missing out on seeing the photos when they're set up to delete themselves.

... Although in practice if it's a photo we think the other should see, even without screenshots or explicitly saving the photo none of them are actually deleted

Sometimes it's annoying if I've read a message and seen the pics, but he's not on till later so they're gone by the time he gets on. I've started marking them as unread again so he can see, and will make a note to remind myself what they're like

Yeah that's what we do if they're not set to auto-delete when read.
