Skank avoidance techniques...

Does anyone else find themselves judging the backgrounds on pics to avoid skanksville?

From crap all over carpets, to uncovered walls... I've even found myself worrying about the state of someone's grouting in a bath-based pic!

I like to think I'm not being snobbish, just using the rule of thumb that if someone takes care of their living environment, they're more likely to hoover and scrub 'downstairs' once in a while too.

I'm the same on Facebook. I don't understand why people post selfies with their crap all over the place. I'm far from OCD, but God, tidy up before you start snapping!

I find I look at background to check if it's a true pic

So many lifted from web are plainly yank houses

True. The two pin sockets and wood panelled everything are usually a giveaway. I've found tineye and Google image search is useful for screening out the "too good to be true" pics too.

I'll be the first to admit I'm not the tidiest person in the world, but I always check out the background... I'm also shocking for judging women on dodgy fingernails/toe nails.... Maybe I'm just a bit judgemental...

Yes!!!!

Could be a great looking guy...but all the time I'm looking at the background thinking....what a state that rooms in

Afraid to say I'm guilty of judging folk on how clean they look

I tend to find that it's the foreground of my pics, however, that puts people off!

Yep. Increasingly more now. No matter how great they look if their back ground shows a manky house it puts me off .

There was one I saw (who shall remain nameless) who was quite uppity in their profile that they had high standards... I felt like messaging them that their high standards clearly didn't extend to the cleanliness of their home!

there is someone on here who had an underwear selfie as their profile pic, and the underwear was not the first thing i noticed. the bedroom would not have looked out of place on the set of trainspotting. :-S

I judge people on back grounds even stated it in my profile so not ashamed to say but if you have a dirty background in pic as you say they don't have high standards in their own personal hygiene Deffo a turn off for me no matter how hot the guy was I still couldn't and before anyone jumps on band wagon it's my own personal opinion but nice to see I'm not only one out there put off by this

We have buffet nights at work. I always avoid anything "homemade" bleurggggh

Also, have you noticed how many skanky bastards don't wash their hands after using the khazi? Even waltzing out the door after a shite! I never touch public toilet door handles...I'm sure I'm not the only one (hopefully) lol

I had an undie selfie profile pic with a messy background however it was actually just all the stuff i had used while getting ready to go to the meet ... Hairdryer , tongs , some makeup bits etc lying on my bed ... Doesnt mean my house is dirty

It's more that you could stir the room I think

Rubbish and dirty clothes strewn all over

I find just talking to people..you can best tell if they are compatible with you. You show an interest, message one another, set up a social met and then you can decide if they are indeed, what you are looking for. It certainly avoids 'judging a book by its cover' and making an assumption about them.

I did see a photo recently of a couple, the woman was on the bed, but there was a wee cot in the background which I did find a little off.

Haha. Don't worry. Your background (and foreground, for that matter!) is quite lovely!

100%, also judge on verifications. We can't just fuck anyone like a lot seem to on here. Needs to be an attraction, standards. Without it there's no real turn on.

Cleanliness and grammar tend to go hand in hand on this site.

Absolutely spot on, no excuse for lack of cleanliness & tidiness whether self or home surroundings

Veris tell me more than pics although if it's an ugly fanny I will tend to move on and there really is some ugly fannies on here !!

I look at veris then at the people that have verified them . If certain members show up I move on .

Wouldn't bother me, I'm not a petty little girl, or trying to score brownie points on fab by pointing out I wouldn't meet anyone with a clutter in the background
