Although I live in the countryside I tend to spend most of my time in or near the centre of Edinburgh.
Because I'm used the Urban Jungle it's often easy to forget just how beautiful some of the areas in Scotland are.
I know some people have the luck of living in places like I'm about to mention, and to you it will possibly seem a bit passé to you.
But today I was in the Trossachs, specifically Loch Katrine and Queen Elizabeth Forest Park, and in a day like today the scenery and the overall atmosphere was so nice and tranquil.
As a kid we often visited the Trossachs, but this is the first time I've been in about 25 years. I need to get my driving license to get back again next summer.

Coming from London, I don't know what greenery, clean air and tranquility is.
The rural areas in Scotland are truly amazing.
Loch Katrine I've been wanting to visit. But loch lomond and the A82 by Loch Ba are top of my favourites so far  |

The isle of Mull and Glen Affric are my favourite places. Some very special memories from holidays there.
For day runs you can't beat the Trossachs or meandering around the wee roads and villages in Perthshire. |

I lived in the city most of my life,now life in a village between 2 towns,fields in front of me,but on the main road and so yep can say countryside,but i live right near the motorway so nice watching traffic head up the a90 towards Aberdeen really,but when the snow comes,well since the mountains are around me kinda fun watching it come closer,but since on a dip the snow can miss us |

Peebles was a lovely drive from Glasgow as was Pitlochry and Crieff. I hope to take the kids to the highlands over the next few years. I have travelled well but in the current climate it isn't safe to go abroad and I just can't afford to take the kids abroad however our shores are so beautiful I don't think the kids are missing out. |

And this is the reason why I stayed in Scotland.
I love the country and its people. The scenery is amazing but also so varied. Cities, villages, waterfalls, mountains, locks, wildlife... it's great.
I have a soft spot for Oban I must say.

Scotland is beautiful ,some of our natural scenery is breath taking , I have a thing for old buildings, lochs and scenic views ,I think myself lucky to stay in such a stunning and interesting place where even just a walk in the country or a trip to explore one of our amazing city's within Scotland can be so interesting xx |
