Or can a text/email get taken out of concept?

You can't really have a laugh on a text because you can't see people's facial expressions.

If I try to say something funny, I always feel I have to say ha-ha/lol/joke at the end or they think I'm just a cunt!

Personally, I think that's why most people take the huff over silly things because they read something and its meant in a totally different way!

The biggest chunk of communication is body language, when you take that away then it's open to all sorts of interpretations. You're right about you being a cunt tho

Yeah it can totally be taken out of context, that's why I use emojis even though I'm not a fan of them!

They usually take things the wrong way

Depends on folks moods I think with txt

You are correct... that and folk telling you what YOU meant... miscommunication is usually to blame which is worse in the written word as there is harder to convey nuance and emphasis properly.

You have two ears and one mouth for a reason... you should listen twice as much as you speak

English isn't my native language so it's safer if i use the above lol
