What games have you guys been playing lately?
Anyone tried the new warhammer quest?
I was tempted by this one. Looks pretty need. I love modeling and painting too. So this one would look ace and done and on the table.
I tried Kingdom monster death a few weeks ago. Great fun, brutal game. Not at all worth the huge or price paid for it by my friend. But an experience for sure. |

For me mostly settlers of catan on the tablet unfortunately.
Last time I got to play actual board games it was Firefly and Smash Up.
One of my friends picked up Warhammer Quest but hasn't done anything with it just yet. I did buy Warhammer Quest the card game but haven't had a chance to try it yet. |

We love our board games. Also fancy getting warhammer quest card game.
At the moment mostly playing Game of Thrones LCG together. Also playing x-wing and got StarWars Rebellion when it came out, had a couple games so far and it's great.
Others to mention are Eldritch Horror, small world and forbidden island.
We're always on the look out for others to play with.. |

"If there was ever a thread for those who used to frequent the school chess club and spent their teenage years at games workshop...."
Not that there would be anything wrong with what you're saying. But we were not like that and just recently discovered how good and involving a lot of board games are. Much like how pc and console games have evolved but you get the interaction and socialising too. In our option better than spending hours watching shitty reality tv programs that so many seem to be glued to now a days. |

Well said!! Spent yesterday playing forbidden stars and it was ace.
If people want to make stupid assumptions about they can go for it. Not the kind of people I like to hang with.

I did that but I also was captain of the school rugby team, played for my district and played on both the hockey and football teams while going to heavy metal gigs.
so not quite sure what you're implying with your comment. But I feel like you were making an assumption thats wrong. |

The board gamers and roleplayers I have met over the years have been the most welcoming, inclusive, non judgmental and diverse group of people I have ever met.
Generally when I have that I common with someone it means I can sit down with these people and have a good time while getting to know them. Great fun.
You really got no idea what you are missing.
Anyway, I have a star wars game to do a bit of prep for tomorrow night. |

I have to say I have been swinging with gamers since I was at uni in the late 90s lol. I have met almost everyone I have had fun with over the years that sort of way. |

"would people be up for a gaming social in Edinburgh, possibly during the week ?"
Possibly depending on the details though the weekend would probably be easier for me |
