So looking to hold my fist ever apartment party on Saturday the 23rd July. Looking for a rough guide on what sort of people would be interested in this night before I go ahead and book apartment??....   |

So guys finally have a location for the night on Saturday 23rd July. Has been stressful and hopefully worth it. Now I can see why not many people do these parties  . Anyway pay pal is in place for individuals who are certain they want to come. Pm me for details. Looking forward to it |

I get that none wre told but it was also never stated no more single guys perhaps the way folk read if its not clarified they take it as given that names down are accepted as for ages im sure there are ages plus and minus that you would have no intrest in. Its entirely your choice to have it or not folk juat like as much info as possible to make a choice.maybe a social with a view to apartment party would work better would allow you to out more undesirables |

Delighted to say it is officially booked and paid for so can people that want to come get in touch in pm so I can send PayPal details and then we can set up a Kik group up and I can send a photo of confirmation of payment as I am aware people are unsure to pay or not due to a hoax on here a couple of years ago. This is 100% genuine and hope that it turns out a success and everyone has fun and if it's a good night may be a regular thing xx |

I think Felicity should be commended for trying to organise this in the first place, she put the work in and sadly it didn't work out.
Having organised just socials before I know how hard it can be to get people to actually commit and turn up. With something like this where there is a financial risk involved I absolutely get the stress of not know if you are getting enough people so that she wasn't out a not small sum of money.

Stressful doesn't come close. More stressful than my actual job. If people that are actually serious about it and want to come then payment really needs to be made rather than making poor excuses on why not to pay or asking questions that I don't even know- is fun guaranteed??? I don't know. Is fun guaranteed it a club?? I am happy to send proof of my payment for the apartment for people thinking this is a hoax. Happy Monday guys xx

As these public/forum parties in Edinburgh continually fail it would tend to suggest that there is no great call for them. Think people prefer not to open them up to the forum and just stick with friends or acquintences- as we are all entitled to do.
If I were to do one then I would book the venue that I wanted and if others wanted to come then I would divy up the cost, and if the initial amount was too much to bare then I would just visit a club.
Maybe those that are interested can sort out set plans and not have accusations of insinuations that it was a scam or that people were out to try me get a free ride (no pun intended) |

we have did social night for over 5 years, we pay the outlay first, then its not till the last few days before it people asking if they can come, thats why we try and keep it as low cost as possible and even at that we sometimes do not cover our costs for dj, food, hall, and prizes for raffle, if you ever do one get advice from others thats doing them or have done them so you dont loose out,,,  |

There was 26 people interested but I guess with what happened a couple of years ago has put people off and that's understandable I would be the same. Meant more personality/presence wise than experience organising meets..... Known quantities so to speak. Thing with Edinburgh is that personalities come into it far more than in Glasgow as it is a much smaller pool of people. You had 26 that were keen so hopefully you'll enjoy it! |

Gotta agree with you here ....this is no way me being derogatory to anyone running socials ....but sometimes I can be same people socialising in same circles.....it's nice to have a mix up. |

At the beginning of this friend there was a good amount of interest and through private mail like yourselves who I have kept up to date with what is happening.
However when couples start to message saying they can no longer come due to the partner working or the partner being sick then becomes impossible for this to go ahead and the latest a couple are not even together now.
Then you have the single females who were interested but do not want to come alone all
Of a sudden or they cant get their daughter to look after the dog that evening. Total and utter piss take and they say the single males are the time wasters on here. Well I would 100% disagree as the single males who were interested kept to their word rather than being full of shit and time wasters and use wonder why fuck all happens in Edinburgh???.
Nothing to do with my planning I have the perfect apartment for the evening 3 bedroom one with en suite bathrooms in each room so perfect venue. Was cheap per person and was central what more do you want??? You can see from my veris I am genuine so the fault of this is all at your own not me but yourselves. I wonder myself why I even bothered to take the time out of my busy wee life to even do this for people who are not worth the hassle |

"At the beginning of this friend there was a good amount of interest and through private mail like yourselves who I have kept up to date with what is happening.
However when couples start to message saying they can no longer come due to the partner working or the partner being sick then becomes impossible for this to go ahead and the latest a couple are not even together now.
Then you have the single females who were interested but do not want to come alone all
Of a sudden or they cant get their daughter to look after the dog that evening. Total and utter piss take and they say the single males are the time wasters on here. Well I would 100% disagree as the single males who were interested kept to their word rather than being full of shit and time wasters and use wonder why fuck all happens in Edinburgh???.
Nothing to do with my planning I have the perfect apartment for the evening 3 bedroom one with en suite bathrooms in each room so perfect venue. Was cheap per person and was central what more do you want??? You can see from my veris I am genuine so the fault of this is all at your own not me but yourselves. Fair enough, but nobody asked you to do this..... It was done on your own volition and then you announced that it was cancelled, that nobody should contact you about it and that you had a plan B so anyone that may have been swithering or waiting to see how work/kids/dog sitting was closer to the time would have forgotten about it was apparently cancelled. Then it was resurrected but appeared to just be for you and a few 'in the know'.
There are plenty of parties, meets, groups etc in Edinburgh but a lot are not advertised in forums as it is about getting the right mix of people and no hassle.
Enjoy the night as you have an apartment that you are keen on and can enjoy with friends |

This isnt to get up anyones nose but throughout the post it has been off n on like a whores knickers. Edin glasgow aber dundee it really dosnt matter clear and concise will always win hands down. There can be a case of to many cooks spoil the broth. Try not to be disheartened contact profiles that showed an intrest but above all its your party have it your way |

Good luck with your party, hope it goes well. We held two parties last year and are working on a larger one later this year, and it's not easy to organise everyone.
Many people say they're interested but when you ask for the money they fall by the wayside. We started with a core of friends that we knew we could rely on and added on from there, meeting new people for socials so we could get to know them, see if they were a good fit etc, and they'd see that we are genuine.
It's a lot of hard work and some anxiety, but when it all comes together in the end it's great

Couldn't agree more I've organised a few apartment parties and you need to be consistant and have you numbers and plan from the word go and most importantly you Need to have a shit load of patience as people can take ages to get back to you. Change their mind etf but such is life x |

Plenty going on though. Just not through forums or posted meets. Think that if there was an Edinburgh equivalent of Fab Fem then there may be more women that would join such events (not to single anyone out or being disparaging about others). The great thing about fab is that we can all use the site as we wish and get what we want from it. Vast majority seem to be doing that so long may it continue!

I have organised many.
Always have a date,place,time and costs in place before posting an event or party because I think that's what puts most off is the unclear details.
As the organiser it's your responsibility to pay the booking fee in the hope that your going to have enough interest to pay the rest of the event with a bit left over for extras .
