Morning all,

So thought I'd find out where my fellow geeks and freaks are and what you are all into.

Must admit to being a star wars "lengends" junkie, all things marvel, halo, xbox one and Bruce Springsteen fanatic.

Do the occasional cos play as well.

So who else is there?

Transformers since 1984, and Deadpool since 1994, but was lucky enough to get his first appearance for less than a fiver.

Wish I had found this thread ages ago.

I am a huge geek. I have no shame about it.

I love everything from TV, movies, books, comics, role-playing, board gaming, war gaming and general geeky banter.

I would love to meet up with any fellow geeks for a social event if anyone is up for it.

Or if anyone fancies some role-playing or board gaming!

I am trying to rebuild my social life and why not find friends here?

Anyone who fancies a chat please drop me a message

I know Geek-a-Boo in Queen Street has gaming at the back of the shop some days.

Yeah I know those places and there are a few clubs around too. But I generally prefer a less crowded scene to play in and to get to know a group of folk a bit better than playing with random people all the time.

But good suggestions. Thanks for the reply!

I started going to my local shop and getting to know people there, once they know you a bit they then invite you to smaller nights and things, might be worth a shot. Or see if there's a small gaming group through the university?

I used to run the Glasgow uni gaming society a long time ago.

I don't want to be the old guy that keeps turning up to uni to play games!

I have an old friend who I have started role-playing with, she managed to get a group together. But they are so young. Their style is so different from mine, probably because of their age and inexperience, I am trying to slowly introduce them to a more story based model of playing. But it is a long process!

Never did get into gaming. I am however addicted to Football Manager for my PC.

Got into the computer world in the early 80's but more stripping them down and rebuilding them.

TV like gangster type films, wrote a book documenting an A-Z of who is who within the history of the Mafia in the USA.

Music I play in 2 bands, was a huge Springsteen fan during the 80's-90's saw him play a couple of times and spoke to him backstage once.

Currently into sexual roleplay, like playing erotic games with the right ladies

Well for all you geeks put there who may or may not have heard of Preacher, a graphic novel from a long time ago!

I would advise you check out the new show being aired right now. If you have Amazon prime it airs once a week, new episodes are a Monday. This is outstanding TV, right up there with daredevil and Jessica Jones!

If you have never read the graphic novel, I would just skip it and go to the show. Then if you are interested read it after.

It is only up to ep 4 so far. Every moment has been genius.

Nah, those MCM cons are just that - a con. Comins shoved into a back room, and full of bit part actors charging £20 to write their name on a picture of an alien they played in a movie 30 years ago.

"huge geek.."

Love all things geeky including books. George RR Martin's books are articulate and mind blowing. Also like David Wyndham.

Star Wars, Star Trek movies (new ones) are also amazing. The rebooted Planet of the apes series are superb.

With geeky sci-fi, no one comes close to Christopher Nolan on a film making level. Guy is a genius.

Inception and Interstellar are two of my favourites
