We lived in a house a couple of miles outside a small town. One day, around 18 months after he bolted we were in the post office and there was a pic up of a cat that had just been found and it was him! He was very distinctively marked and we had old photos of him as a kitten to prove he was ours. Two other people identified him as a regular "dinner guest" too. He HAD been neutered so we couldn't even take that revenge! He stayed with us after that till he was old and grey. Cat's are fickle I'm afraid, however much we love them they are always on the lookout for a better deal. |
