To me it seems ok (from a guys point of view at least),Maybe just the fact you are a newbie may put some folk off,join in the banter on the forum,possibly even the chat room, drag your bahookie along to one of the socials and/or a club and try getting folk to put a face to the name and things will pick up.
And don't take anything too seriously.
