Almost every day we see people being called attention seekers.
But surly that's the reason most on here have a profile ?
In the hope they will recieved some kind of attention and hopefully find the fun they came on here to find.
What do you class as attention seeking ?
Is me doing this post attention seeking or simply trying to fathom out what makes one person an attention seeker but another might not be claseed an attention seeker?
God I'm confusing myself now over this lol.

I have to agree in that the minute you do a profile or post photos you want some form of attention. I don't think there's anything wrong with it either.
Some people like more than others and good luck to them.
Often those who do the 'they're attention seeking' whinging are on some level jealous, bitter, or a little resentful that it's not them |

"Ultimately we all crave attention to one extreme to the other, be it this post or any other forum post to getting a million messages that they have no intention on answering " I hope not my in box is already full lol |

Being on the site, posting to a forum, sending a message, are all forms of attention seeking. Some might be more reluctant to do anything to get that attention, and the term itself has negative connotations, but it's different degrees of the same thing. |

Agreed I think there is possitive and negative attention seeking and that can make a big difference in how it's recieved |

"People asking on their statuses for others to fab their pics lol gets on my boobies!
Why?"
Because if people appreciate a pic then they will like it without having to ask. It falls under "look at me" attention seeking |

Perhaps it does but I still don't get why it bothers people so much? Unless of course there are some feelings of it taking attention from them? |

I'm not asking anyone to get why it bothers me or others so much. It is an act of attention seeking at the end of the day when you have to ask others to fab pics. Let people make up their own minds if they want to fab pics or not |

If a pic gets over 1000 likes with the promise of getting a meet from them....someone's gonna be busy |

Absolutely nothing wrong with seeking a little attention here on Fab ... now tell me I'm pretty
The only type I truly hate is on Facebook when someone posts an "OMG I can't believe it" status, then sits back and waits for everyone to ask what's wrong. |

I class lots of things as attention seeking and it does irritate me on rare occasions, especially when the jist of the attention seeking is I'm so much prettier, better, more popular, have more/am more than others or overpowering larger than life false personalities.
I'm a fan of quiet, low key, self depreciation.
when I seek attention it's usually from freinds or family in the form of physical or emotional support not from the unknown masses on a web site to give me a false confidence boost.
Not really comfortable with the "look at me, look at me" style of things, Im a background lurker on the fringes, if I get noticed its sometimes nice.

" But some people are very confident larger than life personalities and there is nothing false about it if that's just the way they are.
I know many larger than life characters on here but don't see them as attention Seekers. |

That's why I said larger than life "false" personalities eg trying too hard, it's not really them |

I think attention seeking has been around as long as living beings and animals have. It's perfectly natural and I believe most of us are genetically programmed to seek attention of varying sorts, to differing degrees. Life would potentially be very lonely and isolated if we didn't seek attention from others and reciprocate it.
In the context of this discussion though, what is abundantly obvious these days is, the advances of technology have provided us with so many media platforms to seek our attention, which very often manifests itself in a completely unnatural and vulgar form of attention seeking.
Craving attention is fine, we all do, but being addicted to or feeling compelled to have it, is something I think we see more and more these days.
These days you don't even need to open your curtains to have the eyes and ears of the world on you.

"think when folk say they dont like attention seekers its those fake people that they mean."
this, problem is most people are fake, full sh*te and want attention for the wrong reasons, it's all about me for most IMHO
which i find a little sad saying, but it's true. |

I think it's all subjective. I've been accused a lot over the last few days of attention seeking after I posted something on the forums but it was mainly from guys. I wasn't attention seeking and pointed out that clearly if I'm attention seeking I'll just post some pictures to get some attention. The problem with posting or saying something is that people take it or can take it in the wrong context. I love poking fun at myself and others don't get it, they can see it as me being arrogant, when I'm actually just trying to be funny. But it's a part of the society we live in, social media gives everyone an instant opinion.
We all have our little annoyances, I'm not a fan of people asking for fabs either. I kinda think it's sad, I also really don't like people who's status say 'I've had enough I'm leaving' and they are still here months afterwards . But I'm sure some people don't like seeing pictures of guys with massive cocks and 6 packs (there is an example of me trying to be funny but may be considered arrogant) guess we all have our little pet hates and am sure if we see someone we like then we all become attention seekers |

(Enters stage left)
"Hello, it's me! Just passing through....not in any way seeking attention."
(Tap dances to middle of stage, trips over discarded bucket, struggles up with frock tucked into knickers and huge hole in tights)
"I love you all...!!!!!"
