I like his work for both making the period the pics are done look glamorous and always shows the lovely sensual moments between people so beautifully.

Just touching on the sensual moments DBS, I like one of his more recents.......Couple X. There are another couple that spring to mind too ... Queen of Diamonds and Confession. I guess it just depends how one's mind actually depicts the story being told.

Had to laugh DBS......having never had a look at your profile before, I just picked up on the similarities of the Vettriano paintings I noted above and the pics on your profile - very artistic! |

Love his stuff in general, though some of it has ended up being a bit 'athena poster' ish.
Especially like the way the art establishment turn their noses up & he doesn't give a toss.
And the more they ignore him the higher the prices his stuff gets at auction. |

Wow !!!! Just discovered this thread. I have a whole bunch of recent fotos I did in the Vettriano style. A sort of "what he would have painted next...." Fellow Vettriano fans please message me, I wanna see yours and show you mine!
I reckon he has a secret stash of total porno paintings that are private and won't be discovered until he is pushing up daisies.
(which hopefully won't be for a few decades yet)

Ohh i saw it on saturday, if you have a Coldstream Guards coat i think you could re-create "On Parade" too, it caught me out at the exhibition, i was admiring the coat then did a double take at the gorgeous lack of troosers,lol

The Vettriano exhibition at Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow will open late, till 8pm, next Friday 8th Nov 2013.
This might be a chance for a little old fashioned boy meets girl stuff. Plenty bars and cafes nearby to discuss Mr V's work. |
