If Diaz can take it to the ground he has a real chance. Mcgregor is seriously lacking in that department with a few more weeks notice Mendez would have beaten him I feel. Having said that Macgregor will likely knock him out before it goes there. I am rooting for Diaz. |

Connors jumped 2 weight classes to take on this fight he's looking like an animal bigger built more power only thing he lacks in is his kicks they look kinda weak. If he gets Diaz with a nice left its game over and the notorious takes it |

He has no business fighting at 170 he gassed almost immediately and his ground game is none existent. Phenomenal at 145 but so so arrogant to think he could move up with ease. 1 weight class maybe 2 just made him look daft. Still least he was humble in defeat. |

Hats off to Connor for stepping up to the plate I guess. Dana White said Everytime he phones Connor to arrange a fight all he says is Ach just you pick my opponent. That's some ballsy stuff. If he done his homework he wouldn't have underestimated Diaz in the slightest the guys an all out brawler when he's not in the UFC he's bare knuckle fighting in the street lol. Great show nonetheless |

Good fight.
However stepping up as he did was a step too far.
McGregor was doing fine whilst he used his stand up boxing skills. Was beating Diaz out of site and cutting him up pretty badly coasting to an easy win.
Round two began and Conor dropped his guard and began to showboat. Then the inevitable happened he got tagged and that took the wind out of his sails. Mentally he started to unfold and when that happens in the fight game it's surprising how rapidly your physical energy drains. Suddenly McGregor is completely shot and gasping for breath.
He took Diaz to ground to try and recover some energy. Second biggest mistake he took as his grappling skills are inferior and especially up against a heavier opponent was too much.
Was only a matter of time when Diaz would slip a choker lock on and Conor would go to sleep. Tapped out before Diaz put him out |
