It amazes me sometimes how quickly people can change on here .. from being so nice with their first message to being abussive if u dare to turn them down

I thank them, they took the time to look over your profile and see if you're what they are looking for...
I find it more insulting to say nothing but I understand why people do it.
More insulting still is days of conversation and when you ask to meet them they block or vanish. |

Someone got pretty aggressive with me because I turned down the opportunity to "try-with-a-guy", though I did take the offer as a compliment.
I was initially pretty enraged but then realised that my sexuality wasn't my fault and ergo he was just a bit of a knob!
Decided that a lack of reply is probably more suitable than a polite knock-back. Also figured out message filters to prevent recurrence. |

It's interesting you chose a response many females do - i.e. non response. As I have said there are many many lovely, polite and courteous guys here but as a female you sometimes feel you can never get it right.
If you don't respond you are rude and if you do you end up getting abuse or told you are a time waster.
I remember one guy asked me "couldn't I just fit him in?"
No wonder many men get accused of a "dial a shag" mentality... My response was polite however but DIRECT... |

when I get a knock back i usually reply with a simple "ok, stay fab" and move on. It generally doesn't bother me.
For some reason though if I've sent a message which isn't vulgar or pushy or whatever and I get an instant deleted. That seems to piss me off more than a simple no thanks does.
I know why a no reply is what folk mostly go for but it still riles me up for some reason lol |

Using the block button is sound advice and It IS used but it's not about "inclination". I think most guys here would expect a polite no thanks, in fact it's often a complaint on the forums if women don't reply... hence the damned if you do damned if you don't scenario as per Non Blondes comment.
What's being commented on here mostly is polite conversation which much be engaged in to determine whether or not you'd meet which then degenerates into abuse if you refuse POLITELY.
It's an age old one on fab though and wont ever change in my opinion

Felt the need to update this....
I received a message from someone who said they changed their mind about meeting with me.
It was a nice polite message and, although I'm disappointed, I'm not planning on sending him random insults.
As has been said, we all have a type. I guess I'm not his.

The reply I got told me I was arrogant (despite being polite & tounge in cheek) and that I should take a jump off a high building

I wasn't and that was the end of that chain of communication, they were verified etc so I guess it's relatively common for people to ask for last minute meets on here and not arrogant at all lol... Anyway, it wasn't for me and thankfully no insults were traded .
I think I've been lucky, I've not had a bad experience yet in the year I have been on here. |
