The 365 day penny challange
Jump to: Newest in thread
Day 1 save 1p
Day two save 2p
Keep going
Day 100 save £1.00
Day 365 save £3.65
And by the end of the year you will have saved £667.95 just think what that could buy you?
Starting my 2nd year of doing this |

This one is good and realistic. Would be a great way to save for next Christmas!!
There's one that you put a quid in every week but the money increases each week. It's good until you get to week 30 onwards where some people really would struggle to put away £30, then £31 the week after, £32 then £33 all the way to £52. |

"Call me thick I don't get it. By end of the year you've saved £3.65
Explain to this thicko"
No
Each day you add a penny to what you saved the day before
Day 1 1p
Day 2 2p
Day 3 3p
Day 50 50p
Day 100 £1
Day 150 £1.50
Day 365 £3.65
And the amount of pennies relating to the day each day of the year..
By the end of the year you have about £650.00 |

"Gotta be a bitch saving the highest amount in december though ... Maybe December was the best time to start "
A friend of mine alternates it..
So
Day 1 1p
Day 2 £3.65
Day 3 2p
Day 4 £3.64
Day 5 3p
Day 6 £3.63
And so on... Says that works better for her.. |

Sounds great in theory but have you thought about that last few months?
October, November and December you need to put away nearly £3 per day which is £90 a month which is not as easy as you think.
I wouldn't want to put anyone off trying this but it's easy in the beginning but much harder towards the end. |

I just get a sealed tin from pound shop and stick a tenner in every week. Couple of times I've broke into it before the years up but generally disciplined enough to end up with 500 pounds at end of year to help with christmas |

It isn't honey. It's pennies so most would ever be £3.65 |

"Wouldn't it be easier to just save £2 per day? I can imagine it being rather awkward to find the exact amounts required." would work out the same in theory but i think the point its trying to prove to most is just how much you can save by doing it in pennies lol |

The pound one is a little different cherry, you put a £ in to match the weeks
Week 1 : £1
Week 2 : £2
Week 3: £3 all the way up to
Week 50 : £50
Week 51 : £51 etc
At the end of the year there would be something like £1320 saved up which is fantastic but so many folk would really struggle to put away £120 + a month come weeks 30 onwards. Sorry I didn't explain it too well in my last post, |
