Never been my strong point TBH, thank god for spell check!

Always had trouble with certain words

Iingerie - bra and pants

Definetly - defo

Rendezvous - let's meet

Liason - let's meet and get it on!

Do you think with modern technology we are loosing the ability to spell correctly?

Losing*. Yes

Folk will argue that as long as what is being put forward is well understood then it doesn't matter but I disagree. Nuance is lost when we're forced to account for poor language, spelling and grammar, and the message weakens. If language is ever evolving, how many perfect, nuanced words are being replaced by a cover-all generic one?

Too many years of programming has lead to me spelling everything the American way rather than British and my website gives that away more than anything else haha even though it's a .co.uk website people still think it's an American company due to me spelling certain words the way I do ie personalized

I would agree with the above! If I knew what it actually meant! Lol

I'm as sharp as a tennis ball with stuff like this! Thankfully my lack of spelling ability hasn't held me back in my chosen profession!

My spelling is shocking . I blame texting. Shorting words all the time. Luckly I have a few pain in the arse who notice every mistake and kindly inform me. The spell police just love them. Must admit times I do it deliberately just to keep them on there toes.

no mater how many commas full stops elipses inverted commas so on so fourth you use it can never place enough emphisis where you want it language is ever evolving and to a large extent its those who cling dear to the old ways that are trying to stop it moving forward as qith life evolution will march on regardless because enough folk use the new ways to make the old obsolete

I confess to being a bit of a spelling Nazi. In fact it is less about spelling for me (God knows predictive text throws up some crackers, and then there's the odd typo). Things that annoy me are for example:

Using the wrong too

Loosing instead of losing

Their, they're and there getting mixed up

Typing as if you were talking informally with a pal (unless you actually are).

I like a bit of both in a message... some slang or text speak can inject personality and humour in a message and after all language is an ever growing and changing thing but always remember...

Grammar is the difference between knowing your shit and knowing you're shit... so it can make a difference ;-P

Well to concur with what you say... when comforting a grammar nazi I like to pat them softly on the back and say... there... they're... their...

Spell checker fails to identify where one uses a word which may be spelt correctly, but is the wrong word, for example it allowed you to use "loosing" because there is such a word, but it has a different meaning from true word you meant, which was "losing".

I lost my ability to spell way before modern technology. Autocorrect most the time just makes it worse. Xxx

I'm a complete hypocrite when It comes to spelling and grammar.

1: I consider mines to be above average but at the same time very bad

2: If someone sends me an email and their spelling is bad or in slang I usually won't reply back.

Conclusion: I find intelligence very sexy.
