cant understand why the place has been closed and no one has complained about it. when i say this i mean people in the area who like to go down and look at the river and go for walks etc. seems a bit heavy handed nowadays. does this mean that when someone speeds they going to shut the motorway? in saying all that the idiots who were over pushy and had no etiquette have a lot to answer for. |

"cant understand why the place has been closed and no one has complained about it. when i say this i mean people in the area who like to go down and look at the river and go for walks etc. .................. "
The venue mentioned was closed because of complaints to the local Community Council from non-doggers who were unhappy at the goings-on there. The cops acknowleged they don't have the resources to patrol the area 24x7 so they asked the council to liase with the developer of the site on the road to the left as you enter the site and the decision was taken to close off the area completely. I believe a dusk till dawn curfew was considered but rejected 1) on the grounds of cost and 2) because not all the problems were after dark.
The cops concede that most of the complaints concerned inappropriate behaviour during daylight when, as you suggest, dog walkers and ornithologists were out and about pursuing perfectly respectable activities. |
