I've had one for many years now. I doesn't change it for me particularly during normal sex but tugging at it during oral is always fun.

I’ve had one for a number of years, never a problem with condoms, the odd girl has freaked when they saw it but those that have tried have all enjoyed the extra sensation it gives them. If the guy has had the piercing for sometime then there should be no problem, just lie back or bend over and enjoy the experience!!
For your peace of mind, make sure its well fitted, thin flimsy rings can come apart, anything over 3.2mm or 6 gauge is safe as long as fitted tight, that is, cannot be easily pulled apart. Avoid barbells unless they are really thick as the balls often are only screwed on by a thin thread.
If you really are in doubt just ask him to take it out.
