I am NEVER off my work even times when maybe I should be . So why ,even when the Doc advises it do I feel guilty phoning in sick ?

Actually resting and doing as I'm told for once ... first time for everything!

Something I'm afflicted with as well to be honest. Part of it as well for me is actually admitting that I'm ill enough to warrant it.

Cause your part of a system that punishes you for being off sick!

That's why I choose to no longer be part of it!

Not a had sick day for 5 years even when I flu...proper flu not mankind..think it because in my job only myself fully qualified to do it on my shift and feel that if called in sick would be letting all co.workers down because would make there job10 times harder...that and fact every sick day costs me 100 quid and am a tight arse

Yeah I get that too, feel like I should be doing something.

I felt guilty about not going to the gym on Friday, even though I wasn't well and was exhausted

Oh yes I'm not good admitting I'm not 100% . Even when doc told me I was running a temperature I told him it was just that the room was very warm .

I also went to work the next day with a broken foot, although I thought it was just a bad sprain. Was given a 2 week line and went back to work after a week because I felt guilty as I'd only been working there for 3 weeks!

I do think it depends on what's wrong with you. If it's something you could pass on then you shouldn't go to work

I hope you get better soon Mrs X

Hope you feel better soon

And as a fellow "sooner chew my own foot off than go to the quack and say I'm not well" kind of person, I'd say the fact you've taken it off means you really needed to do so

Do as the Doc says. Rest, do as the Dr advises & STOP FEELING GUILTY. You can keep me company with my damaged ligament & back problem. (They told me to rest it for 4 weeks - like that's going to happen).

Any get well soon. Sends virtual hugs & snuggles Sensy B( @ )( @ )BIES. Random
