So my lorry has a problem and I'm stuck at the workshop in Ayr while they fix it
Usual drinks machine and vending machines
But they have just given me a little box that says Snack Pack on it
Inside it is a mini can of Pringles, a small pack of raisins, a Blue Riband, a small bottle of mineral water and a single mento mint
How cool is that??
That's made me smile |

"I was being a bit harsh saying its a dump. The beach is lovely and there are other great areas but the high street is terrible "
Yep, Ayr High St has sadly seen better days. I'm not sure if it's downturn coincided with the traffic restrictions coming into force.
But at least they eventually did away with that crazy parking ticket system, I think St.Andrews was the only other place in Scotland that had it. |

I don't think it was the traffic restrictions. It's far too narrow a road to have two way traffic and it was a scary place to cross. Someone told me how much the rent is for businesses on the street, I can't remember what it was to be honest but it was exorbitant. So it isn't worth opening up there.
Small businesses are better off in Prestwick or Troon where the rent is an awful lot cheaper. The main streets there have done really well with lovely boutique shops |

Out of town shopping centres are often blamed for struggling High Streets, but imho, commercial landlords are the bigger villains. |
