Not a pleasant subject, but something I've been suffering from for coming up to 24 hours.
What would people suggest as suitable foods that are gentle enough for my stomach?
I'm thinking of trying some Knorr Chicken Noodle soup as it's basically a clear chicken soup.

Sorry to hear of your predicament...I had it once many years ago in Berlin after having lunch in a fancy restaurant with the mayor of Berlin..... Try drinking lots of fluids and eating toast...it might well last a good few days...hang in there....you'll also lose some weight which is possibly the only upside of it all |

Thank you for the suggestions. I was struggling with water last night, so still a little reluctant to even try that.
Not a big bread eater, so there's none in the house. But I'll head out soonish and look for some plain stuff.

If it is real food poisoning and not a tummy bug, you must see a Dr and report the food outlet so it can be investigated. As for food I doubt you will be able to eat for a fair few days all depending on the strain of poisoning you have. As you can tell this a subject I study in. Good luck is all I can say! Ouch! |

I couldn't see my doctor, because it wasn't urgent (apparently) but went to my local Chemists. The pharmacist confirmed that what I'd described were typical food poisoning symptoms.
It was very likely my own fault. I hadn't cooled down some un-used rice quickly, and when I reheated it the next day, had a few spoon-full that weren't fully warmed through.
I'm back onto solid foods already, but small portions of plain items only. Also sticking to water and weak tea for fluids.

Your Dr is unprofessional if he thinks food poisoning is not an urgent case. I feel you may just have not cooked or cooled stuff right, as you say. If your eating already then wow! Pleased your on the mend. Ps cook rice properly lol |

I live in a small village, there is one part-time doctor for the whole place. They try to get you to see the specialist nurses.
My eating had actually been off since Monday afternoon, and it's only got back to a semblance of normality today.
I am still suffering, no sickness (since Tuesday), just a few extra loo trips.
The hardest part is keeping my fluids topped up and also keeping my blood-sugar in decent levels.
I do normally cook rice correctly, it was just this one time I've not done things right, and paid for it.
