"Simply because this is a thread being bumped, it makes no difference whether is Erskine or Headley a card to some of these guys can make their day whether their Para's, RRS or Booties." what do you mean a thread being bumped?

"Bumped was the wrong word to use, this idea is being mentioned on other sites but it was ms38hh that thought it would be a good idea to bring it onsite." the only reason i posted was because it was only scottish posters on this thread to date and we are massive fundraisers for erskine although no contacts with the forces whatsoever.

Headly is basically where all injured service personnel go after suffering a life changing or indeed a potentially fatal wound whilst serving abroad. This in no way takes away from Erskine and the truly remarkable work they do for the servicemen and women. Its really good though that you guys play a big part with fund raising for Erskine, i for one would like to thank you for that as i know many current and ex-servicemen and women who could potentially call upon the services of erskine. It wasn't ment to take away from anything that Erskine has done or will do in the future but feel free to post it there I just thought that it would be a nice idear for the hero's that keep us safe every day of our lives. Thank you Mr K for explaining so well Michelle xxxx

"I am not saying that Headley Court is not doing a fantastic job, short term, for servicemen and women. But Erskine caters for these people long term. Erskine is not just for "Old" war veterans. There have been many badly injured soldiers from Afghanistan who have went through rehabilitation at Erskine recently. They have a special unit called the Ark which is specifically there to deal with the young men and women coming back injured from recent war conflicts. Erskine is not government funded in any way. They rely solely on fundraising and donations to keep Erskine open and they offer an extremely high standard of care. The permanent residents range from 27 years old up to 104, with men and women of all ages passing through their rehabilitation system on a regular basis. The reason you do not see many tv adverts for Erskine is because they have to pay for them from their budget and their money is much better spent on the care service they offer. They have many facilities throughout Scotland and there are many needy people in Erskine's care who would appreciate a xmas card and the fact that someone has thought about them, after what they have done for the country, either recently or in the past. They are all heroes of war after all." As you will see from the post from above yours I have said feel free to post to Erskine I think most people will be aware of what they do. Right at this point I wish I hadn't even posted this up I am going to leave this for one more day and then ask for this thread to be deleted. I really didn't put this up for a barrage of posts telling me who should get cards and who shouldn't I will leave it up to you to say what you want but as of tomorrow this will be gone so it is up to you now
