Have just read that Barr's are stopping the deposit / return on glass "ginger" bottles, it's now 30p return on a bottle !! .... What will the poor weans do , now that there will be no more glass cheques !!! |

Meh my two go to the shop with them all the time, you normally find they do that first before raiding the penny jar
If they stop the 30p return then folk will have no reason to dispose of them properly and they'll end up lying everywhere like we used to see with carrier bags

Turns out they are doing away with it due to new technologies so means that they'll not be using glass bottles which isn't so bad? Looking forward to finding out what they plan on doing next ie new bottles

Barrs wanted rid of them when they still had Five regional depots. Plastic bottles don't burst when shoogled around on the Bru trucks. Nothing like a cold glass bottle taste. No more bottles = no more crates too.
Wonder if Garvies will follow suit. |
