I was born in 60's but 70's was my music era, enjoying early 70's then appreciating and following the punk late 70's era, going regular to see the Clash, Stranglers, Damned, Skids, Siouxie & the Banshee's, Tubes, Blondie etc, also enjoyed the Rah Band, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd and all associated 70's groups,
later went on to enjoy early 80's music and then in my mind music went to shit
Also I am 70's era for growing up, now today apart from country & western,
my music era and the era I love is the 60's, wish I was in my teens then, enjoying the summer of love and those crazy days
so my preferred era is the 60's;
60’s
Scott MacKenzie San Francisco 1967
California Dreamin - Mamas & The Papas
Where have all the flowers gone By Peter Paul and Mary
Age of Aquarius Pricilla Ahlers
The Archies Sugar Sugar
The Foundations - Build Me Up Buttercup
Mary Hopkin Those were the days
The Byrds - Turn! Turn! Turn!
Creedence Clearwater Revival – all songs
The Doors – all songs
VIETNAM WAR / JIMI HENDRIX
Jefferson Airplane - White Rabbit (Platoon Version)
Rolling Stones
The Band – The Weight
The Animals
The Grateful Dead

Mid eighties for me. The time of all the big power ballads and rock music. That soon developed into a love of heavy metal.
Now as my eardrums are still recovering I can listen to anything except jazz. |

I (Mr) was born late 60's, and loved the explosion of NWOBHM in the late 70's and 80's. That led me on to explore 70's stuff, so yep, 70's and 80's for me |

"I have to admit I love the 80s but I listen to stuff from the 60s to last week. If it's decent, I'll listen to it
Think the 80's were the worse years for music "
DISCLAIMER - at no time did I say or suggest the 80s were better or worse than any other decade, I merely pointed out I like the 80s music as it was the decade of my teens |

1970s for me. I think it was the decade with the most diverse genres of music.
There was a radio series on the BBC called Sounds of the twentieth century. It went from 1951 to 2000, every week covered a different year. I always thought the 60s was my favourite decade until I listened to that programme, but I absolutely loved the 70s. I think it might be playing again now for anyone that's interested. |
