I've never been but fancy it. Anyone been before? Too weird to go alone?

Despite being told about it several times, I forgot it was this weekend, and have made other plans.

From what I heard it's less Comics and more for Sci-Fi fans.

SDCC has totally changed from what it was.

Getting tickets for it is a gamble to start off with.

You have to wait to be told if you're allowed into certain panels or not.

If you want any of the souvenirs/exclusive it's all about queuing, and in some cases queuing for a lucky draw to see if you can then queue to buy an exclusive.

It is no longer about comics and memorabilia, and is instead a mainstream promotion vessel.

Was at this weekends GCC was amazing, great banter and you meet people you always see at cons and have a great day. Great stalls and stuff for random geek purchases.

Yeah MCM is huge and takes uo multiple secc halls but any con has its pros even the glasgow comic book fete in walkabout is worth a visit.

Plus side of any con....getting to see all the hot cosplays.

I dont see it as a bad thing that is become more mainstream the exclusive stuff can be awesome just look at how good Star Wars celebration was. Comic con in San Diego looks awesome and cosplay as become a big thing from Japan, to USA and now here.

Totally agree. It's become far more accessible in recent years and is awesome especially for kids (or big kids) that want to go and have a great day out.

Would love to go to San Diego. Would die happy if I ever go.

I would say i (S) is more of a graphic novel fan. Stuff like Knightfall , The Killing Joke , The Dark Knight Returns part 1 and 2 and 3 is coming soon

I used to read alot of manga when I was younger and got hooked on the various spiderman and starwars through the years.

Now I'm just keen on the star wars expanded universe books or "legends" as they are now called.

Yourself?

You should check out the long Halloween and dark victory. Both are great reads.

I suggest you get tickets in advance for MCM Glasgow and also get there early to avoid the massive Q's I didn't purchase in advance last year and the que was round past the entrance to the hydro and that didn't move until the pre purchased tickets had entered which had a que as equally as long

Its good to see that pretty much everyone comic book, tv and movie and even game is all canon for Star Wars.

"So what comics do you guys read?"

Mostly Marvel stuff with some Image and other Indie stuff.

I'll admit that the Marvel Secret Wars event killed my interest in most of the titles, however some of the new #1s sound good or have writers on them I like.
