ALEX Salmond received £13,500 for ‘newspaper columns and inter_iews’ in the first three months of 2015, it has been revealed.
Details of the payments made to the former leader of the SNP were disclosed in Mr Salmond’s official register of interests at Westminster.

Especially interesting is the pdf Register of Members Financial Interests. See who's paying whom to do what. |

Yes Alex is a good man, he donates a lot of his salary, earnings and proceeds of his book to charity, cant get much fairer than that, and be truly believes in Scotland and Scotland's people, shame most others do not follow in his footsteps
I wonder how many on here donate part of their salary & earnings to charity |

Politicians shouldn't get paid as much as they do, Davy dickhead Cameron gets £70,000+ a year! For what exactly?
Then they have a cheek to say they don't get paid enough & now they're getting a pay rise!!
When his son was alive he claimed dla for him, now his son is dead he wants to cut dla for everyone else!
Not all politicians but David Cameron is scum all he needs is a little 1930's mustache & he's spitting double of Hitler.
Rant over......kinda |

"threads like this one always start bad mouthing and fighting between fabbers, we could do without these posts
guess some like to stir trouble"
Why not just post suggesting a Mod or Admin close the thread?
Guess some don't like facts. |

It's interesting to see who is making what Tony ( happy face ) git that took us in to a war that was wrong. Made millions just from talks in America. When his wife made 18 million. From defending asylum seekers. Put a few grand for columns in a news paper into prospective. I also see now that Mr Brown is in line for a job with the European bank. As the uk rep. If Scotland was independent he could not take the job. Funny old world, They get us every time. |

"I think I might be missing a point so will ask....is he not allowed to earn any money ?"
The point, wasn't 'look at Eck and his wily ways'.
It was 'look at the pdf and see who's bunging who'. |

So why mention him then? Seems pointless in the context if that's the case.
Could well have said Ian Murray getting paid £70 and £80 a pop by you gov and various others for doing surveys.
Both equally as insignificant. |

Nope I don't but you do because you obviously read all the newspaper reports about him. If nobody read them then he wouldn't get paid.
Stop reading every pointless fact about him. It's not worth wasting your day |

......
Cod you can't just post a link to the pdf."
Sounds fishy...
Why not? 'Here is a link to an article on MPs extra income (insert link here)'.
Lemon squeezy. Granted it doesn't have the hate filled bile attached but folks would get the jist. |

As most of the commentators on the piece stated - this is a bit of a non piece. What I did find more interesting was that Boris earns more for an "as yet unwritten" book, & that Westminster MP's earned £7 million collectively, with the Cons earning the majority at almost £5 million, for other interests. It kinda puts Wee Ecks paltry sum to shame.
Sounds to me that the "politics of envy" is alive & well & being perpetuated by those that don't like the former FM legally earning a salary from writing. Perhaps the journalist who compiled the piece was being paid less & was actually having a dig at their employer. Just a thought. |

Good. The object of the exercise as I've stated (above) was that people could see who's getting paid what and why. You've made my point. |

Is it possible to highlight one person, though?
listening to the top ten women list, the first minister has won over the public in a way that mr Salmond is not able to.
Marmite you either love him or you donot |
