amitriptyline is an antidepresant, its also a mussle relaxant given to aid nerve pain. I cant take it cause it turns me into a zombie for 8 hrs after I wake up & thats me taking it before going to sleep at only 10mg

A house, a very big house in the country

You could try a bath with either bi carb soda I think it helps the itching. I feel for you. Had a bad case of chicken pox at 26 nearly lead to shingles. )

Skyhook is fairy spot on, it all depends on the dosage, it reacts well for nerve pain and the nerve system from doses of around 10 - 50 mg, depression requires much higher doses of upto 250mg

For pain it is best taken at night around 30 mins before going to sleep

If on a high dose of 50mg or more, you cannot "just stop" taking it, you need to cut down by 10mg per week until down to 10 or 5mg and then stop.

Your doctor will ensure the correct dosage for your cause & treatment

I feel for you with adult chicken pox.

I had it as a kid...then again a few years ago. It really is worst thing ever had. X
