The three I have used for this very purpose are:

Grand Central - dearer but huge and totally anonymous

TravelLodge Hill Street

EasyHotel Hill Street - tiny room and the most basic of basic but spotlessly clean.

Hope it helps xxx

Glasgow

The premier inn on Argyle Street can be really cheap (average cost is 50) and is just your standard hotel room. You can just walk straight in to the lift without going past reception but the only thing that's annoying is you can only go up to the 1st floor without a room key so if your meet is arriving after you then you'd have to go down to get them.

Used to be my main meet hotel and never had an issue or embarrassing moment

Avoid the Alexander Thompson like the plague though, it's awful inside!
