Dundee Parties

So we were talking to someone the other day about the fact that no one in Dundee seems to have parties, and I've been wondering about the possibility of trying to organise them myself.

Obviously there would need to be a cost to cover the accommodation fee, so what I'd like you lovely folks to tell me is what you think is a reasonable price to pay for a party, per head?

Obviously people would bring their own alcohol with them, but we'd supply towels, condoms etc.

Nothing is certain at the moment, I'm just picking brains. Cheers m'dears!

We were going to come up to the one at new year but didn't book last minute thankfully as it turned out to be a scam . That was £60 a couple but was a bit steep closer to £30 would be better per couple but think other things than money would beain reason to go how any single guys or couples only was it just a social party or play party etc

Yeah, it would be a play party and there would be a few singles as well as couples.

I saw that scam thing at the time, horrendous!

They made some money as well thousands by look of it.

Party up in Dundee would be great and if someone could find suitable venue they could have a monthly or more gathering for people to attend

That would be great, unfortunately there's not a large choice of venues

There's a cpl of people who run parties from a lovely apartment, it's well attended and they have strict policies on behaviour...seems to work for them

If you could point me in their direction to pick their brains, that would be appreciated

Blue Velvet used to host great parties, they moved the venue around but some were in the Dundee area. Not sure if they still exist.

Good luck, they were certainly successful at it

They aren't around anymore, although one of the guys who ran it had a party in Dundee a few weeks ago, so there certainly are parties that go on in Dundee.

So back to the original question, £30 per couple would be a reasonable cost, we think?

Depending how much the venue costs and how many people book a place and put down a deposit would be the factoring thing. Have a look at big apartments and prices for a night but most need to be signed out for 10am so maybe a couple nights in an apartment and hold the prty the first night and enjoy the second with people you wanna

It was never posted in the forums, he just organized it with a few friends. The point I (Mr) was making, just because things aren't listed on the forums, doesn't mean they don't happen.

On your question, £30 per couple isn't unreasonable

Keeping it out the public eye can make it more successful

The cpl and single male that do parties are very discrete and don't publicise it openly for all to see and I think that's part of their success

Thanks for all the helpful comments, and ideas on what people would find reasonable to pay. Much obliged
