When I am down that way, I use velocity on south crewe road, the david lloyd at newhaven, or puregym at Ocean terminal - they are all near my lovers house.
Depends what you want from a work out. I also run when I am down there to keep fit... |

We are both members of other gyms (hope it shows lol) but thinking of joining another one.
We're just wondering if any fabbers use this one and any feedback x |

I'm thinking about joining the one at Westerhailes too. If it's anything like Pure Gym I'd hate it. Was full of people posing and judging anyone not like them X |

Apparently there's a section for women only, for the body conscious.
Waiting to get reports back before commuting though. |

May I ask, why does this bother you? I go to the gym to work out, not to see anyone who is there, and if they judge me, I honestly don't give a flying toss... the only person I compete with in the gym is me - and thats been the same since I mustered courage as a size 20 to walk into one (I went from a size 26 down to a 20 doing dvds at home)
They can't be up to much if they go to watch everyone else, I'm too focussed on my own workout to even notice them (I've actually been on the treadmill beside a friend and not even noticed it was them until I stepped off) |

I don't know why it bothers me but it does. I already feel like a whale and quite ashamed of my body. I fight through those feelings and work hard but those looks from them hit me. Last time I left in tears. The problem is mine not theirs. The leisure centre gym has a more relaxed and less judgemental feel to it but times aren't great.

Aw MissNutella, I am sorry you feel like that. I hope you find a way to deal with it.
Just remember, every step you take is one more than someone on the sofa!
And for what its worth, I am sure they were not really looking at you - I don't even see other people in the gym - and had someone tell me I was judging them when I had not even seen them... And I do remember what its like to feel out of place - its why my next training is to get to my level 3 personal training certificate - I'm already level 2 gym, and working to teach bodybalance as well.
You can do it! |

Miss kink has a memebership. £9.99 introductory offer for life she jumped at it! Delayed opening due to the outside lift and stairs. Looks good though, small boxing ring, womens area, classes all day everyday usual free weights system weights and machines, for your monthly fee. Think it opens this week. Miss kink is in Egypt, but when she gets back I'll let you know what its like. |

I use 'The Gym'. It is very cheap, local, but no frills.
Obviously, there is a fair share of meat heads who occupy all the weights. But if you get there mid-morning you have the place to yourself. |

We're members of Renfrewshire Leisure and use that as we prefer the classes to gym workouts....but a good friend is in sales at Exercise4less and had us along for a preview. Looks great!,loads of new equipment, well spaced out. Yes separate section if women want to (not obligatory) work out on their own. And access to PT's cost may be involved?
Overall looks a great deal, Gunn I think would be perfect for you bud! And at £9.99 a month!! No brainer!
Now lighter nights are here I'm out on bike 2/3 nights a week, and weekend, so considering cancelling mine @ £26/month and using exercise4less for spin etc. |

"New gym opened in town, any of you fabbers go?
What's it like? X"
Went to it this morning for first session. Great PT who managed to make me exercise and laugh at 7.30am. Eye candy wasn't bad either |

"Wow sounds good "
It was. I've been allergic to gyms for years, never liked being surrounded by skinny minnies half naked. I now think early mornings will suit me better |

"Gym with a few fabber would be a good thing... be nice to have someone you can chat to and chill with.
Knowing you are part of a 'lifestyle' would help build gym friend/buddy to help egg you on."
That's cool for those who want to be open about what they get up to in their personal life, I'm too shy for that. I get what you mean though, if it was someone I aready knew through here it would be a giggle |
