Its heartbreaking to hear this news i was really hoping it wouldnt be her and that they would find her safe and well but not looking so good now
Its sad , sad day when women cant go on a night out and enjoy their night without feeling safe. |

No parent should ever bury their child.
I lost my brother, age 14, in an accident. It tore my folks hearts out.
I hate to think what these poor people feel knowing someone deliberately took her life.
I really believe, in this day + age of forensic testing etc, there is very little room for mistakes and there should be harsher deterants for these b******s! |

What really upset me, apart from the loss of a young life, is the fact they say they have found human remains, not a body. What on earth happened to this young woman. My heart goes out to the family. |

Devastating news for her family and loved ones . She came to Scotland and thought she was safe . Each one of us should be able to go out a night out and arrive home safely . Definitely makes you think . There's a lot of us girls go out together weekly and end up split at times or ones disappear off for trains taxis etc without telling the others . I have to say I will be ensuring someone knows where I am and who with no matter what now .
God bless her family and friends and may she rest in peace .
I hope he gets the maximum penalty possible |

This is what gets me, the Police are saying remains and not a body. It appears the fucker tried to hide his crime by disposing of her in separate parts.
One of my Facebook friends reckons an induced coma for the wee fucker personally I think they should stick him in a hall in Cornton Vale and tell the ladies who he is |

The scarry thing is we have all been nights out and one of our friends get seperate or leave early. You just think there ok. But thankful this Dosnt happen often. But once is to much. There will always be nutters and scumbags. Just takes you to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. Devastating for all who knew her. Even getting justice Dosnt always make you feel better .just the evil sad world we live in. |

A JUDGE sparked anger after appearing to suggest tragic student Karen Buckley “put herself in a vulnerable position” by drinking too much.
District Judge Nigel Cadbury made the “distasteful” comments the day after the body of the Irish student was discovered in Glasgow.
He was speaking at the sentencing of a woman who assaulted a reveller in a booze-fuelled fight outside a bar in Worcester.
Leanne Roberts, 21, told police she could not remember punching her victim because she had d*unk too much.
Is the judge completely out of order or does he make the point most fathers make to their daughters before a night on the town? |

Whatever happened, Buckley found herself in a situation that a normally sensible girl would not likely find themselves in. Possibly drink is to blame helping her in making bad decisions the other night. One such thing that can be very poorly impaired when d*unk is judging someone's character, plus your bravado is greater!
Girls who survive situations of any similarity should be told the lesson to learn, if that means citing the example of another who wasn't so lucky, then it should be done...... Sometimes the girl getting home is down to luck rather than self, Karen Buckley it would initially appear had the ill fortune to be escorted of someone who was capable of killing.
For those deaths to mean something then what better tribute that she reminds other girls in the future of what dangers lie out there. |

whatever happened, in whatever circumstances yet to be fully determined... it serves as a very cruel reminder that people never truly know the intent of someone they meet...... |

It just gets worse
A man charged with murdering Irish student Karen Buckley by attacking her with a spanner and strangling her has appeared in court for a second time.
Alexander Pacteau is accused of then covering her body in "corrosive substances" and putting the 24-year-old in a barrel.
The 21-year-old appeared in the dock at a private court appearance on Friday for the second time for a full committal hearing.
Pacteau, from the city's west end, made no plea or declaration and was remanded in custody by sheriff Kenneth Hogg.
It is expected he will stand trial later this year. Papers from Glasgow Sheriff Court claim that on April 12 at his Dorchester Avenue flat and elsewhere, he repeatedly hit Ms Buckley on the head with a spanner, or similar object.
The murder charge also reads that Pacteau "compressed her neck". Pacteau faces a second charge that between April 12 and 13 at his west end flat and at High Craigton Farm, Drymen, knowing he had killed Ms Buckley, he "applied corrosive substances" to her body.
It is alleged Pacteau put her body in a plastic barrel and "concealed" it in a storage shed. |

And worse.
It transpires Pacteau was acquitted of attempted rape a few years back. His guilty plea to murder doesn't mean his attempted rape jury got it wrong but it may make some wonder. |
