Looking forward to it! We're staying with friends a few miles up the road so a comfy bed, good shower and good food in the morning are making it so much more attractive this year! |

This will be an interesting year, they will have no option but to close off some roads and make others a one way system as you will not get 2 way traffic on these twisty roads.
Fencing has already started and barriers in place at Skydive Strathallen, I believe they have borrowed Skydive Strathallens car park and airfield for over head shots
Anyone who plans walking to local villages make sure you have your "witts" about you when walking these roads, or there may be fatalities.
Have a fantastic time, but play safe |

Public money - YOUR money goes to T.
Details of the funding for the festival appeared on the state aid section of the Scottish Government’s website four days ago.
It states: “T in the Park, delivered by DF Concerts, has received one-off grant funding support of £150,000 from the Scottish Government to help ensure the successful transition of this iconic music festival to their new temporary site at Strathallan in Perthshire. |

Ah but said info was only available four days ago. Call me cynical, but I suspect a wee dig at the SNP here. I could, of course, be totally wrong. |

It's a one off grant, hardly state funded. Presumably to assist with the change in venue. Not that that worked out well! |

IF, if I were having a go at the SNP, I'd probably choose that fact that their police policy left a couple dying in a ditch, that their schools policy leave many schools short of teachers and that their health policy leave many folk waiting in A&E (even after they fiddled the figures).
£150,000? As Calum Kennedy might have said 'I've lost mair oot ma sporran runnin' furra bus'.
£150,000 is just about Nicola's salary. |

Just strange a post "whos all going this year" then you start on about finances of the event. I could understand if you had reasoning behind putting up this "information". But seems to have no relevance to the posts original concept |

I have just googled economic value of T in the park. It led me to an article in The Herald stating that a 2014 study has shown that "T" was worth £15.4 million to the Scottish Economy.... So surely the subsidy (works out at good business at 1%) is pretty prudent.... So I can only presume that Onny is trying to praise the Nat government ???? |

Depends how much shit the pubic leave behind. I'm sure I read that it used to tale a a full two weeks for the Balado site to be cleared and all the rubbish taken way.
A lot of the site has been tidied up quite nicely and the grass is back to looking like grass again already though.

"Why does everything have to be 'making a point'?
Isn't information of value in itself?"
"T in the Park is at the centre of a cronyism row after it emerged a former SNP adviser working for the festival helped it secure a £150,000 grant from the Scottish Government.
Jennifer Dempsie, a project manager for promoters DF Concerts Ltd, brokered the initial meeting between the company boss Geoff Ellis and Culture Secretary Fiona Hyslop to discuss the extra funding.
The discussion on May 28 ultimately led to Ms Hyslop signing off an an “ad hoc state aid” package for the festival on July 2 eight days before it began." |

As several have said before...So what?
One of the fundamental rules of business funding, if you can use someone else's money, do it.
The event generates a huge amount of money, not just for the company but the surrounding area. Every guest house and hotel for miles around seemed to be booked up and the additional income was of huge value to the area so I don't think you'll find much sympathy with this attempt at political points scoring.

No politics here but why should any buisness that has made huge profits get any money from the tax payers.its not as if they were planning to move it to siberia I get what has been said about economics for scotland and specifically the area.imo we need to stop giving fatcats and the rich even more payouts for no reason they want to make money good generate that with their own money not everyone elses |

It transpires Jennifer Dempsie is the shagee of SNP Westminster leader, Angus Robertson
MP.
The plot thickens. |

"Past that place last night, its still a shithole covered in litter
how many weeks does a tidy up take?"
Don't know about TITAP but Glastonbury pays more than £750,000 in landfill taxes for the rubbish from the clear-up. Green peace is extending its efforts to recycle the tents, equipment and food left behind. |

"Its a buisness though maybe his point is why do the people have to pay at all (considering only a tiny percentage use it)"
Maybe the point should be 'why does a company with a turnover of £167 Millions NEED a one-off payment'? Rather than 'why did a former SNP advisor broker a meeting (note- NOT the deal) with the MSP'. |

That wouldn't fit Onny's anti SNP sentiments though. |

Ms Dempsie has been struck off the SNP candidates list and Fiona Hyslop is to be hauled before the Holyrood committee. |
