So it was announced today; a no smoking ban in Prisons, although the government does have the option to appeal this.
But as of today No Smoking
any opinions!
I say our prisons should be more like Turkey; Thailand, Mexico & similar, where you get a bed or mattress and left to fend for yourself, oh and without the cigarettes, perhaps then our jails would not be so full.
then again there is always that word of fear: Birch

not when the inmates are suing the government for smoke related illnesses and that in turn falls to the tax payer

The ban has been in place since 2006 including in prisons this case was about an inmate wanting access to the smoking hotline (which he lost) the judge redefined that smoking is not allowed in any enclosed public space the crown argued that the crown ie prison cant be bound by the rule the ruling has been withheld awaiting appeal from the crown |

I meant in the grand scheme of things we need to be looking after people and helping those who need and desire it so the prisons aren't full which costs us way more than this case. |

Booker would go bust if they stop smoking on prisons. Last year a report come out that booker made over two million a mouth from government contract for British prisons. I wonder how much booker give to political parties in funding for that. ??? I just find the system is on greed and mostly at the top. Bigger crooks in Westminster. |
