"Won't buy it but what I've heard of it, it's certainly better than Oasis."
Absolutely nowhere near better than oasis. The new album is poor.
One strong song on it. Ballad of the Mighty I |

"'What Ive heard of it'
No intention of buying it. Always preferred Noels voice to Liam's nasal whine though."
Preferring someones voice doesn't make the album better than Oasis |

Yes it does. To me. That's where it ends. Music is a personal thing. I think Oasis are a second rate Beatles - who were never a great band themselves - in my view.
Your logic in the above post would mean you'd still think Oasis would be great with Joe Pasquale singing?
To be fair, I'd buy that album.

No it doesn't. Noel sings on a good few Oasis songs, some of the best Oasis songs.
The quality of song now from Noel is nowhere near his peak in Oasis. |

Leave aside the clear difference of opinion then, which is hard and fast, evidently.
The quality of most bands songs deminish over time. How many bands have a 'what's the story' album and can never follow it up? All bands peak, it's the nature of the business. Generally it comes with less investement, less recording time, cheaper producers, less marketing, less distributer plugging etc. The songs can still be there but if they're not laid down with the same panache then they won't sell.
Very few members of original bands, even if they were the main writer (as Noel was in this case), go on to have anywhere near as successful careers on their own. Not all but very few.
There's a thread on that from a few weeks ago.
Oasis were a one trick pony. HFB at least is trying something a bit different from 'what I've heard'.
For what it's worth their shows always had a pretty intense vibe about them. Sometimes for the wrong reasons but it made the gig. |
