Through the 2000s and early part of this decade I probably saw 800 bands a year so a toughy for the best gig. Too many good ones and a fair host of shite ones!
But...
Iron maiden 7th son tour at the Playhouse for the first gig.
Motley Crüe reunion tour at SECC for best overall gig for a host of reasons.

This is a damn difficult one for me as I see a fair few every year
My first was Queen at the Apollo early 70's
The best....... Cannot choose one single gig but many great ones stuck out in my mind, I suppose Roger Waters at Berlin Wall 1990 was up there with Monsters of Rock Rainbow end of 1970's and 1990 with Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Poison, Quireboys an Thunder
Having sex in the crowd at Celtic Park during U2 was an experience |

"1st was the Happy Mondays at the SECC when I was 14!
The best is between the
Stone Roses, second coming tour at Barrowland
Or
Rolling Stones at Murryfield"
Saw the Roses at Spike Island and Blackpool Empress Ballroom... |

First - Alice Cooper on the Trash tour in the early 90s.
Best - argh. Too many. Machine Head almost every time I've seen them. Anthrax opening for Motorhead a couple of years back. Tragedy (heavy metal Bee Gees covers). First time I saw Slayer on their Decade of Aggression tour. Megadeth with Pantera opening.
I could go on. And on! |

My first were McFly. I was young and in love.
The best were Kids In Glass Houses. Saw them every time they were in town and even followed them to Newcastle a couple times. I just loved everything about them. Was gutted when they announced they planned to split. |

First was 1988. Iron Maiden at Edinburgh Playhouse.
Best? Hmmmm.... The Twilight Sad just before Xmas last year was pretty special but it's probably Biffy Clyro supporting The Cooper Temple Clause at the QMU in 2002 |

First major gig was U2 with the Pogues supporting at the old Murrayfield .. It was the year the Joshua Tree album came out ...... Best ever concert Whitney Houston in Glasgow when she was at her best .. What a talent !! Most eventful was about 25 years ago me and a mate getting on an organised coach from Glasgow to Wembley to see Madonna .. Our coach included about 30 female nurses from Gartnavel .. Was at Clatty Pats ever week for a year after that !! |

First gig, my brother took me to see Elvis Costello at the Appollo with John Cooper Clark and Richard Hell and the Voidoids supporting.
The lighting rig got stuck in the snow somewhere but the show was still great.
Best gig was seeing the Stranglers as they were the last band to play when the Appolo when it closed down for the first time. Next best gig was the Stranglers when they reopened the Appolo , it was a superb venue and sadly missed |
