That's fabs take on status updates.

Are some fabbers using this as a means to moan, bitch, belittle other site users. ??????

Naming & shaming yes its against the rules I had to report one the other day.
My updates are mine if people don't like them there's a block button but I've had to use this the other day as a sad person had someone spying on my profile I found it hilarious rolf also reported it to fab.

Many people use the status updates for moaning and other negative means, but this has a detrimental effect on the mood of everyone using Fab. I avoid moaning, instead I use my status updates to type up a bit of poetry each day, a few lines of a Shakespeare sonnet or a couple of couplets in verse. It brightens up my day anyway. |

I totally totally agree with you negativity i have no time for.
If someone has a negative attitude it shines through everytime in the way they conduct themselfs in the forums on their updates and its pretty clear for all to see who the culprits are and these are people I just hve no time for.
Im here for fun and boy im having fun with fun people, not stupid spats and childish behaviours. |

It's there to let friends and others in your area know what your up to or how your feeling at the time , Fed up or horny and heading somewhere or looking for , but we always have a connection to fab and fun x |

I think some people look on it like it is facebook, which is fine for them, although when I read someone on fab having a bitch it has the same effect on me as reading about it on facebook....I don't care!! |

Read all the comments. Iv uses my statues to make others aware of abusive scumbags. Who sole reason they came on here was to give abuse. Don't know what the issue is with statues its each individuals can post what they like . I got blocked this morning cause of my statues. To me that's a control freek. |

I'm sorry to disagree with you because it's your word against theirs.
I had someone use their status update the other day to badmouth me so does that mean I am what they say I am? no it doesn't but people will see it and judge from it.
I'm just greatful for friends on her who made me aware of it and reported it.
To me people who use their updates or the forums for petty digs have lost all control of the situation because their sorry asses have been blocked and they have no other way to get to you.
even last night just before this post went up someone had a status on their profile and as soon as this post went up it miraculously disappeared why?because the butter wouldn't met attitude they try to show would have slipped thats why.
My status updates are always fun and flirt and always will be. |

if someone is blatantly naming you on a status auds bad mouthing you are you saying you would turn a blind eye and not report it?
I'm sorry but the site owners give us the tools ie block buttons and report buttons for this purpose I always use both even if it not aimed at me but at others too.
No one is here for that kind of carry on. |

Just maybe some ppl are so frustrated in certain situations they put things up yes naming is wrong and all who have done it been punished but its not always easy to ignore certain things |

it not always easy and very frustrating at times.
I do think it's better to try and talk things over with those you have issues with the sooner things can get resolved.
I tried this just the other day and got no where so blocks with remain and nothing will change which is pretty sad really. |

That's not quite the rule. The person you quoted is not trying to contact you through the forum, they are answering your post. That is allowed as long as they are not harassing you on the forum.
Sometimes people wouldn't even know they have been blocked anyway.

Me personally I find it all quite funny and childish , people who want to publicly name and shame ,disrespect and try to humiliate other are needy and attention seeking in my eyes ,At the end of the day reputation come from people but the people I know and care about me on here know my personality and character apart from that no status or abuse is worth me paying attention to as the attention seekers thrive on it |

It's amazing the lengths some people will go to to upset people . It may well be an online site but the facts remain some people are more involved than others and it's part of their lives and who they are. The people I'm friends with are real people I know their friends and family so it does affect some people . However back to original post

Freedom of speech  write whatever you want , if people upset you just block them we aren't kids seems a little childish to post comments about people . We are all adults who share certain naughty things in common doesn't mean as individuals we will all get along but common courtesy and manners go along way , people shouldn't waste people's time but on the other hand some people are demanding and forget people have a life outside fab also a lot of hypocrites who expect a pic but don't provide one themselves x |

If someone reports a profile for its content, then it's not contradicting your word against theirs as it is a written statement and is in public _iew. This site prohibits naming and shaming in any format.
That was the basis for this post to find others _iews on this.

It depends on what it is to be fair. General bitching / bad mouthing someone they get it removed and sent a warning. If it was really malicious then they would probably be disabled. |

Not sure. I reported a couples profile as it had named me and where I work. I also reported that it was a fake profile and what the guy's actual username was.
Within an hour the couple profile had disappeared, the single profile is still active. |
