If I were married/in a relationship, I would be devastated if my other half had an affair. It's such a betrayal. If someone isn't happy, they should tell the other person and either work it out or end it. I know people have their reasons for doing what they do. What I've said is purely my own opinion and feelings on the matter.

Ah well, each to their own. We all know someone who's been found out and the devastation that causes for partners, family etc. Life's a funny thing really. Are humans actually meant to be monogamous? Lol

Naah lol. Trust is a huge part of marriage. Having an affair would destroy the trust. However exploring desires together openly needs the trust you have as a couple

The lady on this morning was dillusional if she honestly thought by having an affair with some chicks husband would actually save their marriage

Do some marriages survive and affair yes but us say most don't as the trust would be a massive issue after?

Karma is a bitch so hopefully when this bird meets her mr right... Some hotter slimmer chick comes along and does what she's so proud of doing to others does to her!

Having an affair can save you from your own marriage. Or as least your self value and sanity. I agree it's cruel, but don't we all want to feel sexy and wanted? Sad fact is sometimes we just don't get it at home.

In my opinion an affair is symptom not the cure.

An affair is an affair.

Sex with someone else while married is an affair/fling.

us swingers can sugar coat it any we like but it's an affair.

If you think of your vows it's clearly there.

I've did it behind my ex hubby's back. So I'm not perfect either

An affair can start a complete new adventure, a fantastic new marriage (with the person you are having an affair with). and if you are having an affair, the old marriage is probably beyond repair anyway.

it can be a shame for the innocent party "if" indeed there is an innocent party,

but it can also be a new start in life

none of us are perfect in this world

it wasn't a topic to discuss who's cheated or being cheated on and whether married with consent it cheating lol

The question was do you think having an affair can sometimes save a marriage?

No, I would imagine the marriage would never be the same again, just a watered down version.

There would be no trust.

I think it can but only if both parties are prepared to take an open and honest look at themselves. It really depends on why one felt they needed to look outside the marriage.

I think we are conditioned to expect our partner to be 100% faithful. Yet in a lot of cases it is the dishonesty that hurts most.

Are we designed to be monogamous? Nope, our needs and wants change too frequently for that to be the case

An affair is different for all, depending on the couple, the circumstances and who else is involved.

For example if a man has an affair with his wife's sister or or wife and husbands brother or any other family member , I think that wouldn't save a marriage.

However if one partner has gone off sex and the affair is to compensate for this, sometimes marriages can recover .

I suppose an affair might bring a couple closer together once its found out about the affair and whether or not they can work through things and make a go of it again .

theres always an innocent party in an affair

Sorry but a brand new adventure is a total joke? It's going behind the 1 person you are ment to be totally commited to and not giving a toss about their feelings

" a shame for the innocent party "if" indeed there is an innocent party,"

With the exception of those men who quite simply have no regard for their partners feelings this statement holds true.

If however a relationship is not nurtured then both parties have to take responsibility for the consequences.

"It's going behind the 1 person you are ment to be totally commited to and not giving a toss about their feelings "

There is no excuse for the lack of honesty and not trying to sort things out with your partner. But with exception of a few I do not think people set out to "hurt" their partner. I honestly do not believe that there is anything more than the here in now being thought of. It is only when the partner becomes aware that something is going on that the problems arise. Deceit without intent is possible.

Of course others will have a different opinion and that is fair enough, this is just mine.

My wife and I both are open about our extra curricular activities. She has a regular FB and I have the occasional meet. I was the one who was initially found out when I was travelling. We had a strong relationship and at that time we agreed on the open relationship. This works perfectly for us and in some ways have strengthened our marriage. I of course would love her to swing as a couple but she so far is not up for that.

An open relationship is not 1 person going behind the others back and lying

Having an affair is

When someone starts am affair albeit maybe not intentionally it's still making that decision to lie to your partner

Be it a full on affair or a1 night fumble

You still know it's the wrong thing to do

You are still making the decision fully knowing that your doing something you shouldn't be

If that person feels the need then they need to speak to their other half as obviously something is wrong

Swinging is an activity that both parties should be acceptable with
